The first part of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, released on July 18, 2025, was a huge success globally. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series, as it wraps up the main story. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 is currently in production at Ufotable, and promises even more intense fights and greater insights into the Hashira.
As someone who’s followed the manga, I have a good idea of what’s ahead. The next Demon Slayer movie, planned for Summer 2027, will largely focus on the fight with Kokushibo. It’s going to be a huge battle, and I think it will definitively show us who the strongest Hashira really is. We saw Giyu’s amazing fight with Akaza in the first movie, and now it’s Gyomei Himejima’s turn to shine. This feels like a new era for the series, as the long-awaited battle against Kokushibo finally begins.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Is Teased For A Summer 2027 Release With Gyomei Himejima Taking The Stage As The Strongest Hashira
The first part of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, released in the summer of 2025, was a huge success. It prominently featured Shinobu and Giyu, two of the Hashira, with Shinobu battling Doma and Giyu playing a crucial role in defeating Akaza. Fans are eager to see the other Hashira in action, and Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2, scheduled for release in 2027, promises to deliver – ultimately establishing Gyomei Himejima as the most powerful of them all.
Gyomei is the most seasoned Hashira, and one of the rare few who’ve unlocked the powerful Demon Slayer Mark, wield a Bright Red Nichirin sword, and can perceive the Transparent World. He’s expected to be a key player in the upcoming movie fighting Kokushibo, solidifying his reputation as the strongest Hashira. His importance won’t end there – he’ll also be a crucial fighter against Muzan in the final movie set in the Infinity Castle, bringing the entire Demon Slayer story to a close.
Gyomei Himejima’s Role In Infinity Castle Part 2
The second part of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will finally showcase Gyomei’s first major fight, something fans have been eagerly anticipating. He’s one of four Demon Slayers tasked with defeating Kokushibo, the incredibly powerful Upper Rank One Demon. Gyomei’s abilities are particularly notable among the Hashira, and as the oldest and most experienced of the group, that experience will be clear in this upcoming part.
We embrace the full human experience, with all its joys and sorrows. Don’t impose your beliefs on others as if they’re the only right way to think. — Gyomei to Kokushibo
Gyomei is expected to rely on his incredible strength – officially recognized as the greatest among the Hashira – in his fight against Kokushibo. Kokushibo himself has acknowledged Gyomei as the strongest warrior he’s faced in three centuries, a sentiment echoed by Tanjiro and Inosuke, who both consider him the strongest Demon Slayer.

How Gyomei Himejima’s Demon Slayer Mark Will Make Him The Star Of Infinity Castle Part 2
As a huge Demon Slayer fan, I’m always amazed by Gyomei’s power! He’s one of only a handful of Hashira who’ve unlocked everything – the Demon Slayer Mark, a blazing red Nichirin blade, and the incredible ability to see the Transparent World. Actually, only Muichiro and Obanai can do all three, but Gyomei is far more skilled with them. While Muichiro can use all three powers, he’s still learning, and Obanai could only briefly tap into the Transparent World during the very final battle. It really highlights how exceptionally strong Gyomei is!
As demon hunters, we will continue existing as long as a single demon remains in this world. — Gyomei
Gyomei excels at all three fighting styles, solidifying his reputation as the most powerful Demon Slayer. If his Slayer Mark had appeared before he turned twenty-five, he likely would have survived the final battle against Muzan.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Is Officially On The Way And Under Production
Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2, and it’s now confirmed to be in production! While Ufotable hasn’t announced an official release date yet, reliable sources suggest the movie will likely premiere in 2027, possibly around summertime.
Since Jump Festa is happening in December, and Demon Slayer will have a presentation, we can expect a new trailer for Infinity Castle Part 2. This trailer will likely show off Gyomei’s abilities and reveal a release date for later this year.
