In the narrative of Jujutsu Kaisen, fans quickly got acquainted with Ryomen Sukuna, the notorious King of Curses. Introduced from the very start, Sukuna took on significant importance when Yuji consumed one of his fingers. This act enabled Sukuna to coexist within Yuji, adding an intriguing twist to the storyline.

In simpler terms, “You are Yuji Itadori, me. You act without hesitation when it comes to killing, much like you don’t think twice about saving people.

From my perspective as a passionate fan, there’s an undeniable similarity between Sukuna and Kurama from Naruto – a comparison even the author himself acknowledges. During the latest JJK Q&A, Gege confirmed that the dynamic between Sukuna and Yuji bears resemblances to Naruto and Kurama, which becomes increasingly evident as the story unfolds.

As the narrative progressed, Sukuna consistently caused a multitude of difficulties for Yuji Itadori, but none were more tumultuous than the Culling Game, where he ultimately swapped places with Megumi Fushiguro, creating a whirlwind of chaos that left me breathless!

In this segment of the series, Sukuna transferred his possession to Megumi and subsequently, a monumental confrontation between Sukuna and Gojo took place during Shinjuku Showdown, setting the stage for the demise of the Curse King. Eventually, it was Yuji Itadori who brought about Sukuna’s downfall, managing to save Megumi Fushiguro from his grasp. As the story unfolded, this was how events transpired, but Gege initially had a slightly different vision for Sukuna’s fate.

Initially, the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen wasn’t Yuji Itadori; rather, it was intended to be Megumi Fushiguro. The creator, Gege Akutami, had various story ideas brewing in his mind before the series began, and these concepts primarily revolved around the same characters, but with slightly different plotlines. For example, Sukuna would have been connected to Megumi from the start instead of Yuji Itadori. However, as the story evolved, Yuji became Sukuna’s vessel, making him the main character we know today.

Regardless of others’ opinions, I genuinely dislike those monkey-like beings. However, I’ve never felt hostility towards the individuals from Jujutsu High. In fact, it’s been difficult for me to show sincere affection in this world.

Gege Decided This Before Jujutsu Kaisen Even Began

From the beginning, it was inevitable that Sukuna would possess Megumi. Although author Gege Akutami introduced variations like Sukuna initially occupying Yuji instead, during the Culling Game, Sukuna returned to Megumi, signifying that his original plan was coming into effect.

From the get-go, I’d been mulling over Gojo’s demise as part of my grand design. In essence, it seems that the concept of Sukuna taking Gojo down was a plot point I had envisioned from the very start of our tale, and eventually brought to life in the climax.
