In a recent announcement, Overwatch 2 unveiled its latest partnership with Gundam Wing, showcasing several new skins such as Wing Gundam Zero Mercy, Epyon Ramattra, Tallgeese Soldier: 76, and Deathscythe Reaper. From April 29 to May 12, players can enjoy these cosmetics along with an in-game event in Overwatch 2.
More recently, it’s been announced that Overwatch 2 is teaming up with Gundam Wing as a tribute for the anime’s 30th anniversary. While a Mercy skin was hinted at in the teaser shown during the trailer for Season 16, fans are still guessing which other characters could be part of this collaboration.
Right before the start of the event, players have just been informed about the heroes involved in the latest collaboration for Overwatch 2. The lineup includes Wing Gundam Zero Mercy, Epyon Ramattra, Tallgeese Soldier: 76, and Deathscythe Reaper as the four skins offered in this crossover. These skins will be accessible from April 29 to May 12, available individually for 2800 Overwatch Coins ($28) each or all together in the Mega Bundle for $59, which includes all individual packs, as well as Highlight Intros and additional cosmetics.
Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing Collaboration Skins
- Wing Gundam Zero Mercy
- Epyon Ramattra
- Tallgeese Soldier: 76
- Deathscythe Reaper
Players can look forward to more than just new character skins in this game. They’ll also have a chance to participate in in-game tasks to acquire unique Gundam Wing-themed items, such as the Shinigami Player Title, Zero System Spray, and Gundamari Weapon Charm. As for how to complete these tasks, details will be revealed during the event. However, it’s expected that players can earn progress just by playing games, making it simple to amass these collectibles along with some additional Battle Pass XP.
It’s interesting to note that two separate leaks hinted at these very skins being part of this collaboration: one from a reliable leaker named wiki_ow on Twitter, and another through images of Overwatch 2 Name Cards showing the Gundam Wing skins. Now, with the official reveal of these skins, along with the datamined Name Cards, both leaks have been validated as accurate.
For the sneak peek of the collaboration between Overwatch 2 and Gundam Wing, the action unfolds on the popular Horizon Lunar Colony terrain, a map much-adored by fans. At present, the cherished Assault map is restricted to play in Custom Games or Arcade settings, but the fresh Stadium game mode has rejuvenated the Paris map through Place Lacroix. Additionally, maps like Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis have been developed for Clash, with more maps expected to join Stadium in future seasons. Hopefully, if we’re fortunate enough, the Horizon Lunar Colony might make a comeback in some shape or form in the future.
