Should You Side with Amita or Sabal in Far Cry 4? The Shocking Truth!

In “Far Cry 4,” you embark on an extensive action adventure through a vast open world, where your decisions and actions significantly shape Ajay’s destiny within Kyrat. One of the significant decisions you’ll encounter during gameplay is deciding whether to support Amita or Sabal in the Balance of Power missions.

In the game Far Cry 4, Amita and Sabal are contending for leadership among the Golden Path rebels. Each of these potential leaders commands their own following and has distinct strategies for resisting Pagan Min’s oppressive regime. As Act 2 unfolds, you can initiate Golden Path missions by supporting either Amita or Sabal after their dispute in a shack. The question then becomes: Who should you align with in Far Cry 4 between Amita and Sabal?

Spoiler Warning: This guide contains some spoilers for Far Cry 4’s Balance of Power Missions.

Amita’s Golden Path Missions

Hunt Or Be Hunted

As a gamer, if I pick Amita’s initial mission, it means I’ll be sneaking into the enemy encampments to grab intel rather than joining forces to defend a peaceful village from an onslaught by Pagan’s troops.

Reclamation

Opting to aid Amita implies assuming management of a clandestine opium farm situated within a deserted tea factory, utilizing the earnings from it to procure weapons, automobiles, and finance the ongoing battle against the government.

Advanced Chemistry

Amita desires for Ajay Ghale to overcome Pagan’s troops stationed at the brick factory, where poppies are processed into opium. After their victory, Amita will secure a stronger influence over Pagan’s drug operation, allowing her to finance the rebellion.

Culture Wars

As a fervent supporter, I find myself compelled to aid Ajay in his quest. To free the citizens of Kyrat from the iron grip of an oppressive, patriarchal rule enforced by their government, it falls upon him to bring down the Jalendu Temple, a symbol of this tyranny that has held them captive for far too long.

Choosing to help Amita in this mission will ensure she becomes the leader of The Golden Path.

Valley Of Death

Amita asks Ajay to eliminate the soldiers operating the cannons, which are repeatedly firing at the village of Utkarsh.

To Reap What You Sow (Amita)

Regardless of who you support between Amita and Sabal, this mission has significant consequences. If you decide to back Amita, she will request Ajay to eliminate Sabal and his allies, thus making herself the leader of the Golden Path.

In this operation, you have the option to either eliminate Sabal or let him live. Should you opt for mercy, Sabal will be forced into exile following Amita’s rise to power in Kyrat.

Sabal’s Golden Path Missions

Rebel Yell

Following their dispute, you may then engage with Sabal regarding his inaugural assignment. He asks Ajay to safeguard a humble village under imminent military assault, a move which could provide valuable intelligence to Amita, but at the expense of potentially compromising himself against the enemy. Sabal believes that defending the villagers will add more combatants to their cause.

Burn It Down

The rebels discover that Pagan Min is broadening his drug operation, utilizing an old tea factory for cultivation. Sabal urges Ajay to dismantle the factory, set fire to the farmlands, and effectively prevent any future establishment of a drug empire within Kyrat.

Basic Chemistry

Sabal aims to completely halt opium production within Kyrat forever by demolishing an ancient brickwork facility, which has been repurposed as an opium refinery for harvested poppies. This action would, nevertheless, deprive the rebellion of a substantial monetary support in their struggle against Pagan Min.

Cease And Desist

Sabal urges Ajay to push forward against Pagan’s troops stationed at the Jalendu Temple, symbolizing tradition and offering hope to the citizens of Kyrat. Meanwhile, Amita aims to demolish the temple, hoping to liberate the people from traditions that perpetuate a lower social position for women in Kyrati society.

Taking this mission from Sabal will solidify him as the leader of The Golden Path.

Take Cover

As a gamer, if I decide to aid Sabal in the Cease and Desist mission, Sabal will dispatch Ajay on a mission to save the town of Utkarsh from relentless artillery bombardment by the military. His objective? To annihilate the very guns that threaten our peace.

To Reap What You Sow (Sabal)

Should you decide to aid Sabal, he intends to dispatch Ajay for the purpose of eliminating Amita and her supporters, thereby solidifying Sabal’s rule. Once this is accomplished, Sabal would assume leadership over the Golden Path.

If you choose to spare Amita, she will be exiled from Kyrat as Sabal takes leadership.

Amita And Sabal’s Endings

Picking Amita As The Leader

Under Amita’s rule, she abolishes old customs, but instead, forces both men and women to labor in the poppy fields, and compels children to join her military ranks. Amita appears to be more ruthless than Pagan Min, and her decisions could very well ignite another civil war within Kyrati.

Picking Sabal As The Leader

Once Amita was out of the picture, Sabal assumed authority over Kyrat, implementing a religious government and eliminating anyone who defied him. Sabal governed the citizens of Kyrat through extreme and fanatical tactics, asserting that any resistance to him was blasphemy against the deities, vowing to purge Kyrat with bloodshed.

Picking Amita Or Sabal As The Leader In Far Cry 4

In this scenario, there seems to be no straightforward choice between Amita and Sabal. Instead, they both turn into oppressive rulers, causing the citizens to live under constant fear or servitude. Alternatively, you could eliminate both leaders, taking out the first during the “To Reap What You Sow” mission, and dealing with the second afterwards. However, if you decide to do so, Ajay will face hostility from the rebels who, as a consequence, will become permanently aggressive and attack him without warning.
