There’s been a lot of chatter about the potential release of an Asus ROG Ally 2 in 2025, and leaked pictures suggest that this device is nearly completed and will even feature an Xbox edition. Photos of its specifications have also emerged, suggesting it will be powered by AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processors.
According to reports from Insider-gaming.com, the secretive collaboration between Asus and Xbox has been dubbed as ‘Project Kennan’. It’s suggested that this device will essentially function like a traditional Windows PC. The base model’s estimated price is rumored to fall somewhere between $499 and $599.
Switch 2 Has Some Serious Competition
The left button on this sleek, black portable device sports an ‘X’ symbol, hinting that it might be the latest Asus x Xbox portable gaming console. In contrast, the white version is identified as the Asus ROG Ally 2. The images originated from the official FCC certifications in the United States (as reported by videocardz.com), and they even reveal the specifications of the upcoming devices yet to hit the market.
This Windows PC is essentially an unchangeable fact: it does not allow you to transfer (the majority of) your Xbox gaming library to the device.
Games compatible with the “Xbox Play Anywhere” program can function as a single purchase across the devices including the “Xbox One,” “Series X|S,” and “Kennan.” This is similar to the functionality of the “ASUS ROG Ally” and “Lenovo Legio Go.” Additionally, Xbox Cloud Gaming will provide access to some exclusive Xbox games on this device.
