Known for their work on the iconic Mortal Kombat series, NetherRealm Studios is currently at the helm of DC’s top-tier fighting game, Injustice. As a devoted fan, I can’t help but envision the epitome of future gaming experiences: a captivating Batman video game. The dark knight’s rogues gallery is brimming with DC Comics icons, such as The Joker, Two-Face, and The Penguin, who have spent their careers in a relentless battle against the caped crusader. Characters like Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, and Catwoman may have transitioned into more ambiguous roles over time, but they all began as formidable adversaries to Bruce Wayne.

The Bat-family boasts a diverse array of potential allies too, including Nightwing, Red Hood, Cassandra Cain, and The Signal. Throw in a few lesser-known characters like Hush and Clayface, and the roster for a fighting game based on the world of Batman would be nothing short of impressive.

As a passionate gamer, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by the renowned Arkham game series, demonstrating time and again that both Batman and his intriguing companions are more than capable of carrying a game independently.

If you’re looking for a darker take, the diverse roster of characters from Suicide Squad, particularly DC’s villains, could also be intriguing. The main universe version of the Justice League could even warrant its own fighting game. Essentially, the DC universe is brimming with characters, many of which are ripe for further exploration in future games.

The concept of injustice doesn’t have to be the sole representative of DC in the realm of fighting games. With the status of Injustice 3 uncertain, there are numerous opportunities for DC in the gaming industry.
