Activision Starts to Issue Cease & Desists to Black Ops 6 Leakers and Host Sites

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say, the cat-and-mouse game between the Call of Duty leakers and Activision is as old as the hills. However, this latest round of Cease and Desist letters and DMCA takedowns feels like a new level of intensity.

After several leaks about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 surfaced, Activision has begun sending legal notices to the individuals leaking the information and the websites hosting it.

As an enthusiastic fan, I’d like to share some exciting yet concerning news about the recent Black Oops 6 incident. It turns out that a popular host named PSLAN claimed they received a Cease and Desist letter from Activision. In this letter, Activision allegedly asserted that the user was offering monthly access to Black Ops 6 for just 6 euros, with a whopping claim of 250,000 euros in potential damages. As TopMob reported a few days back, it’s said that hundreds of us were already enjoying Black Ops 6 through PSLAN’s platform.

PSLAN has since removed support for Black Ops 6.

Alongside the host receiving a Cease and Desist order, it seems that certain individuals leaking Call of Duty details have also received similar warnings. For instance, Twitter user @HeyImAlaix, known for leaking Call of Duty for several years, appears to have been served a Cease and Desist notice as well (an occurrence that is not new for them).

It’s doubtful that the Cease and Desist orders will completely halt the sharing of Call of Duty secrets, but the rate of Black Ops 6 leaks might decrease for a while. Alongside these orders, Activision has been removing all Black Ops 6-related content via DMCA takedown notices as well.

The multiplayer for Black Ops 6 will have its official unveiling towards the end of August during a CODNext event, and this event is scheduled before the Black Ops 6 Beta begins.
