The Resident Evil 4 Remake features a new collectible called the Clockwork Castellan, which, if collected, unlocks a powerful hidden weapon. These small, wind-up toys resemble Ramon Salazar and are hidden throughout the Village, Castle, and Island areas of the game. There are sixteen Castellans in total, with one hidden in each chapter. Players can find them by listening for a ticking clock sound – the ticking gets louder as you get closer to a hidden Castellan.

Clockwork Castellan Locations and How to Find Them
Here’s where to find all 16 Clockwork Castellans:
Chapter 1: Lakeside Settlement
You can find the first Clockwork Castellan on the roof of a cabin in Lakeside Settlement, near where you meet Luis Sera.
Chapter 2: Abandoned Factory
You’ll find the second Clockwork Castellan in a cabin located north of the Abandoned Factory – it’s the same place where you first encounter the Merchant from Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Chapter 3: Quarry
To locate the third Clockwork Castellan, head inside the Merchant’s cabin in the Quarry and climb down the ladder. Then, listen for a ticking sound and follow it – the toy is hidden behind a box in the right corner.
Chapter 4: Lakeside Settlement (Forest Altar)
Once you defeat the lake monster in Resident Evil 4 Remake, you’ll need to return to the Lakeside Settlement by boat. There, you can find the fourth Clockwork Castellan hidden behind the fences near the Forest Altar, close to where the sacrificed girl is located.
Chapter 5: Village Square (Chief’s Manor)
During Chapter 5 of Resident Evil 4 Remake, after Leon and Ashley return to the Village, you’ll need to go south of the Village Square to the Chief’s Manor – the house where Chief Mendez nearly killed Leon. Inside, find the lever hidden behind a painting on the second floor, which will lower a ladder to a secret attic. The fifth Clockwork Castellan enemy is located up in that attic.
Chapter 6: North of Villa (Checkpoint)
In Chapter 6 of Resident Evil 4 Remake, you’ll find a bridge leading to the Checkpoint area, where Leon is ambushed by the Chainsaw Sisters. Just to the right of this bridge, in front of a bonfire, is the sixth Clockwork Castellan.
Chapter 7: Dungeons
Once you defeat the Garrador in the dungeon, climb the ladder behind the now-open gate. You’ll find the seventh Clockwork Castellan on a shelf above.
Chapter 8: Castle Battlements
During the fight with the armored El Gigante on the castle tower in Resident Evil 4 Remake, if he starts throwing rocks at Leon, players should move to the building on the left. The eighth Clockwork Castellan enemy is located to the right, just before the boxes.
Chapter 9: Courtyard Maze
You can find the ninth Clockwork Castellan at a dead end in the upper left part of the Courtyard Maze. Go up the stairs, and instead of taking the first opening on your left, take the second one. From there, just keep turning left at every corner, and you’ll find the castellan behind an old, abandoned table.
Chapter 10: Depths
Okay, so I finally found the tenth Clockwork Castellan! It’s hidden in the tunnel that leads from the Depths to where the Merchant hangs out. You’ll find it inside a gated area right in front of his cabin – look up, because it’s actually hanging from the ceiling!
Chapter 11: Stopover
The Stopover is the first place where Leon and Luis’s minecart comes to a halt. Players can explore a ruined building here and discover the eleventh Clockwork Castellan on top of it.
Chapter 12: Ballroom Leading to the Clock Tower
In Chapter 12, head north from the Ballroom and take the cable car to the Clock Tower – you’ll recognize it by the large statue outside. Once there, defeat the final Clockwork Castellan, which is located in the bottom left area.
Chapter 13: Wharf
Just north of the Wharf, you’ll find a space with some containers and vehicles. The thirteenth Clockwork Castellan is located between a green forklift and a brown truck.
Chapter 14: Amber Storeroom
In Chapter 14, you can find the fourteenth Clockwork Castellan resting on top of the closets in the Campsite, near the gate by the giant Amber.
Chapter 15: Specimen Storage
Chapter 15 features a Specimen Storage area filled with hanging body bags. The fifteenth Clockwork Castellan is hidden within this room, and players need to shine a flashlight on the ceiling to locate it.
Chapter 16: Underground Passage
Just before the jet ski sequence at the end of the game, players can find and destroy the final Clockwork Castellan hidden in the Underground Passage. Similar to the one encountered earlier in Chapter 13, this last Castellan is positioned behind a green forklift.
How to Check Which Clockwork Castellans You’ve Unlocked
You can see which Clockwork Castellans you’ve found by going to the pause menu and choosing “Results.” Then, use the left and right arrows to browse through each chapter. If you’ve collected a Castellan in a chapter, you’ll see a silver medal with a picture of Ramon Salazar next to the chapter name. (Tip from MrDanUK on Reddit!)
