The “With a Trace” quest in ARC Raiders is a classic extraction shooter challenge that relies on player instinct. It’s a straightforward investigation, but because the game doesn’t give you specific clues, many players are getting stuck. This guide quickly walks you through the two key steps needed to finish the quest.

Where to Find Signs of ARC Activity in ARC Raiders With a Trace Quest

First, head to Barren Clearing in Blue Gate. It’s a small location on the western side of the map, and though it’s marked, the specific thing you need to find there isn’t immediately visible.

Once you reach the area, find the large, broken remains of Baron Husk – it’s a massive structure, so it should be easy to spot. Near the husk, locate the ball joint of one of the large, detached legs. When you get close, it will have a gold or yellow prompt asking you to investigate. Interact with it to complete this step of the quest.

One of the benefits of the ‘With a Trace’ quest is that both objectives are located on the edges of the map, meaning fewer players will be around to interfere. Plus, you can complete it without any fighting or destruction, so feel free to use any gear you like and simply focus on completing the objectives.

If you’re looking for ARC components, Barren Clearing is a good spot to find parts or hunt smaller ARC robots.

Inspect Communications Device at the Adorned Wreckage

Head south from Barren Clearing to the Adorned Wreckage. Once there, search for a small computer sitting on a table. You’ll find it near some wreckage with an antenna – look for the piece connected by cables to the largest part of the area.

Okay, so all I need to do is interact with that computer and this quest should be finished! The good news is I don’t have to haul anything back with me, which is a relief. It doesn’t even matter if I make it out of Blue Gate alive! Once I get back to Shani at Speranza, I’ll finally get my reward.

  • Looting Mk. 2 Augment: Comes with more carrying capacity and an additional Safe Pocket slot.
  • Medium Shield: Has more health and resists more damage than a Light Shield, but it weighs users down more as well.

While both of these items are worth 2,000 Coins if you sell them, you’ll actually get more value by holding onto them. There are much more efficient ways to earn Coins in ARC Raiders, and these items will help you do that more easily.
