In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the Dragon-type Pokémon Goomy appears only in Lumiose City when it’s raining. Its first evolution can also only evolve further during rainy weather. Therefore, players hoping to catch all Pokémon (complete the Pokedex) will need to learn how to control the weather in the game.
Changing the weather to rain in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is actually pretty easy, but the game doesn’t directly tell you how to do it. This can leave players wondering how to make it rain in Lumiose City. Here’s a simple explanation of the process.
How to Make it Rain in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you can trigger rain by simply waiting – either by resting on a bench or sleeping at your hotel room in Hotel AZ.
To rest and change the time of day, simply sit on any bench in the city and choose the “Kill some time here” option. Confirm your choice, and the game will switch between day and night. This also resets the weather, and there’s a chance it will start raining.
Every Pokemon Center in Lumiose City has a bench near its entrance.
In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ll experience sunny, cloudy, hazy, and rainy weather. The weather changes seem to happen randomly, so there’s no telling how long you’ll have to wait for it to rain – it’s all based on luck.
Sliggoo can evolve into Goodra during rainy weather, but only when it is at level 50 or above.
Our tests show that once it begins to rain, it will likely continue for the rest of the day and night, and could even last up to two days. You’ll also see a rain icon appear on the pause/map screen to let you know about the change in weather.
Completing the side mission “Let it Pour, Let it Rain” can trigger rainfall in the game. This happens if you choose the “Yeah, I’ll wait here” option when speaking with Cielestine after starting the quest. However, the rain is temporary, only lasting through the battle against Cielestine’s team, after which the weather returns to normal.
