Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Master Guide to Finding All Six Yokai!

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the side quests deviate notably from those seen in past RPG installments of the series. During gameplay, you’ll come across various criminal groups and their associates. The characters Yasuke and Naoe will be tasked with finding each member of these organizations, earning rewards for defeating each individual member, as well as for completing the quest overall. One such quest is called “The Yokai“, offering hints to assist you in locating six “Yokai” scattered across the map. This guide will help you find all six Yokai hidden within Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Where to FInd All Six Yokai in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

How to Start “The Yokai”:

To embark on this journey, you first need to approach Mamushi at the Landmarks of Significance, specifically in Yamashiro. We stumbled upon this mission after lending a helping hand to a distressed NPC during an unexpected encounter. However, if you already know where Mamushi resides in Yamashiro, feel free to seek him out at your convenience to initiate the quest.

All Yokai Locations:

Yokai Name Region Where to Find Map Image
Yuki Onna Omi You’ll find Yuki Onna standing outside Kawachi Kaza-ana Cave, in northeastern Omi. The cave is almost directly between the Suzuka Foothills and the Ibu Highlands. You can only find Yuki Onna in Winter.

Daitengu Harima You’ll find Daitengu at the Arima Onsen, a group of hot springs northeast of the Kakogawa Estuary in Harmia. You’ll see him practicing his sword forms on a riverbank. Make sure to grab the Legendary Chest just north of Daitengu’s small camp.
Kappa Yamashiro You’ll find the Kappa in the Haunted Tatarigami Village, in the Genbu Highlands province of Yamashiro. The Kappa will only come out at night, near the stream to the east of the haunted village. Make sure not to attack the Kappa, as they are actually starving children. Instead, follow them back to the thieves’ camp and speak to them.
Bakemono Izumi Settsu Bakemono can only be found in Summer or Fall. Bakemono are found in the northern Yamata Plains, just before the river that separates it from Ogura Pond. The location is called “Suika Lands,” for reasons that will become apparent when you confront the “Bakemono.”
Oshiroi Baba Yamato Oshiroi Baba can only be found at night. You’ll find Oshiroi Baba in Yamato, in the southern section of the Nara Heartland. You can head northeast from Katsuragi to find her outside her hut. You must fight her, but a cutscene will always take over at the end of the fight. In canon mode, she will be spared.
Taka Nyudo Tamba Taka Nyudo has no seasonal or time restrictions. He can be found in Kabasaka Village, in The Silver Lands province of Tamba. It is located just southwest of the Kata at Narutaki Falls. He will attack on sight.

How to Complete The Yokai – Ao Andon:

After successfully vanquishing all six spirits (Yokai), you must make your way back to Mamushi at the Nyoiji Dyiji Temple nestled in the Mountains of Significance. Upon reaching there, Naoe will encounter a final adversary: Ao Andon. I won’t give away the details, but be aware that there is one more boss fight before concluding this mission.

The Yokai FInal Rewards:

After defeating Ao Ando, you’ll receive the following rewards:

  • Critical Chance With Backstab – Engraving
  • Melon Cart – Outdoor Cosmetic
  • 7000 XP
