Initially when Trump tariffs were implemented, video game manufacturers predicted an increase in prices for consumers. Now, as forecasted, Nintendo has confirmed that starting August 3, the standard line of Switch systems and accessories will see a price hike within the US due to market conditions. Although Nintendo hasn’t disclosed the new pricing for the Switch consoles, Target leaked the revised figures. The base Switch model will rise from $299.99 to $339.99, while the OLED Switch will be sold at $399.99, an increase from its previous price of $349.99. The Switch Lite, on the other hand, will now cost $229.99 as opposed to its initial price of $199.99. This move is quite unusual for a video game console as they usually decrease in price over time, leading many fans to express their disappointment.
