In the arc of Swordsmith Village, Tanjiro travels to this secluded place to repair his sword following the intense fight in the Entertainment District. As he gets to know the villagers, an unexpected assault by Hantengu (Upper-Rank Four) and Gyokko (Upper-Rank Five) from the Demon clan occurs. This attack triggers a fierce battle that challenges Nezuko, Mitsuri Kanroji (Love Hashira), Muichiro Tokito (Mist Hashira), Tanjiro, and Genya to their utmost abilities.

In the heat of the fight, Upper-Rank Four Hantengu, in a desperate bid for survival, attacks and devours the villagers, hoping to heal from his wounds and flee. At that moment, Tanjiro encounters a tough predicament: Nezuko is exposed to the sun in an open field with no cover. As he wavers, she courageously urges him to confront Hantengu.
