So, picture this: The NFT marketplace (somewhere out there in the wild, wild west of Solana—think digital tumbleweeds but shinier) is trundling along, probably minding its own business and maybe hoping that SBF doesn’t show up for tea. Suddenly, out of nowhere, comes Binance—the Goliath of crypto exchanges, with volume so big it practically needs its own postcode—declaring grand support for Doodles (DOOD).
Yes, Doodles. Not to be confused with those masterpieces you sketch while pretending to be very busy in Zoom meetings. Doodles, the NFT ecosystem, suddenly found itself center stage in Binance’s Alpha showcase, where digital assets go from “heard of it?” to “never heard of it but all-in.” Early stage! Futures contracts! Hype so high you could probably spot it from the International Space Station.
“Binance is excited to announce that Doodles (DOOD) will open for trading on Binance Alpha at 2025-05-09 13:00 (UTC). In addition, Binance Futures will launch DOODUSDT Perpetual Contract with up to 50x leverage at 2025-05-09 13:30 (UTC).”
And what did DOOD do, upon hearing Binance’s dazzling offer? Naturally, it decided to nosedive. Like, proper dramatic fainting-goat stuff: $0.00807 to $0.00686, a neat little 12.8% drop. Apparently, in NFT Land, support from Binance is the financial equivalent of your mum turning up at the disco.
For those with lives, Doodles is a set of 10,000 NFTs, presumably for people who want to own art but also really love cartoon-ish anonymity. Created by “Burnt Toast”—yes, that’s really the name, and yes, I’m also hungry—Doodles now dabbles in storytelling, gaming, and presumably explaining to their grandmothers what NFTs even are.
“Within the Stoodio, Doodles’ proprietary fandom hub, users can create and customize their own Doodles avatars, collect digital items from online and real life experiences, connect with a global community, and unlock award-winning content based on their engagement.” So, basically an exclusive club for digital papier-mâché artists with more ambition than anyone in the actual Victorian period.
And, in case you thought that was all, last year they teamed up with none other than Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, and Pharrell Williams for a music video in signature Doodles art style. The crossover nobody saw coming, or perhaps the one the blockchain truly deserved. 🎨🎤
