Blockchain For Good Hosts Web3 Oscar Winners

As a seasoned researcher with a keen interest in technology and its potential to transform society, I found the Web3 Oscar event hosted by the Blockchain for Good Alliance truly inspiring. Having worked extensively on projects centered around sustainable development, it was heartening to see how blockchain technology is being harnessed to address some of the world’s most pressing issues.

At the Web3 Oscars event held by The Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA) in Bangkok, they honored various blockchain initiatives that have made a tangible difference towards achieving the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The occasion was a component of BGA’s November projects, which additionally encompassed the Sustainable Innovation Summit, a hackathon focusing on social impact.

From September to November, this summit presented a reward of $100,000 in total, enticing participants worldwide to create blockchain solutions addressing challenges such as poverty, access to clean water, and gender inequality.

As a crypto investor, I was privileged to be among the finalists presenting my project at the prestigious Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok. The aim? To secure valuable incubation support and equity-free funding from the event.

In a cinematic showcase, ten selected initiatives addressed the difficulties posed by the Sustainable Development Goals, offering blockchain solutions as potential instruments for worldwide transformation. EthicHub received the Grand Social Impact Award, with Plastic Odyssey and ResearchHub coming in second and third respectively. Additionally, Rising Star Awards were given to notable projects such as Wavy Health, LAKE, and Edu3Labs.

At the Web3 Oscars, outstanding individuals were honored for their significant work in applying blockchain technology towards beneficial societal causes.

The recipients of the Collaboration Bridge Award were Harn from Trigger Asset Management and Mariana de la Roche Wills, while BreeAnne Yek and Milica Dimitrijevic received the Public Welfare Contribution Award.

In her closing speech, BGA co-founder Helen Liu highlighted blockchain’s potential to unite people for impactful change, underscoring BGA’s commitment to sustainable development through innovative technology.
