Although Bloober Team hasn’t disclosed the development cost of its new AAA game, Cronos: The New Dawn, the Polish developer is optimistic about its success. The studio is hopeful for the horror game’s performance. They believe it will be well-received.
In the company’s most recent financial report, the studio briefly discussed how Cronos is selling and their expectations for the horror game. They shared some insights into the game’s performance and what they’re hoping to achieve with it.
This financial report is different from what we typically see in the US, as it’s prompting very specific and challenging questions from people.
Cronos: The New Dawn Sales Tracking Well

During the report, leaders from Bloober Team answered questions from attendees. One important question focused on how many units of Cronos had been sold.
Someone asked Bloober Team when they anticipate recouping the costs associated with the development of Cronos, and what level of sales they project within the first 12 months after the game’s release. They wanted to know when the studio expected to see a return on their investment and what the sales figures would look like in the year following release.
The developer replied, “We don’t share predictions publicly; we’ll let you know when the time is right. We anticipate a substantial profit from this project.”
Just heard some cool news – Bloober told me that Cronos: The New Dawn has sold over 200,000 copies since it came out! As a horror fan, I think that’s pretty awesome for a brand new series. It’s great to see a new horror IP doing so well!
Beyond the development costs, which haven’t been revealed, Bloober Team was questioned about the marketing expenses for Cronos. The studio simply stated that they spent “several million dollars” on marketing.
Although Bloober Team hasn’t announced a sequel, they stated they “definitely plan to further develop” the game’s intellectual property, exploring “different fields of exploitation,” and expressed strong optimism about the future of the brand.
If you haven’t tried it yet, Cronos: The New Dawn received a fantastic 9/10 score from us. We said, “This game delivers a captivating story uniquely set in Poland, and also provides excellent survival horror that consistently makes the player feel helpless and on edge.”
If Bloober Team makes back the money they spent, it’s a pretty good bet we’ll see more of the Cronos universe in the future.
