As a seasoned analyst with over two decades of experience in the cryptocurrency market, I have witnessed numerous updates and releases within the industry. However, the latest announcement from Input Output Global (IOG) regarding the release of Daedalus v7.0.0 for Cardano (ADA) has piqued my interest.
Input Output, the developers behind Cardano (ADA), unveiled Daedalus v7.0.0, the latest iteration of their desktop full-node wallet software. The enhancements made to Daedalus are geared towards a revised ADA delegation structure that is crucial for the upcoming Cardano Constitution referendum, which is scheduled soon.

Today, December 10, 2024, IOG unveiled a new update that empowers users to assign their voting authority to designated representatives (DReps), acting as voting agents within the governing structure of Cardano (ADA).
Furthermore, Daedalus version 7.0.0 allows ADA wallet users to opt for an automated voting feature, either abstaining or expressing ‘no confidence’. This empowers the Daedalus community to participate actively in significant decisions affecting the future development of Cardano (ADA).
Version 7.0.0 of Daedalus has been released on the main network, as well as in pre-production and test phases. The Input Output Global (IOG) team emphasizes that the ADA community should exercise extreme caution when it comes to any fraudulent activities involving Daedalus.
ADA community to vote on Cardano Constitution in January 2025
As a researcher, I’d like to emphasize that it’s crucial to remember that the Daedalus full node wallet is exclusively designed for desktop use. Any claims or announcements about mobile Daedalus wallets, particularly those involving ADA delegation within them, should be viewed with skepticism, as they appear to be fraudulent or misleading in nature.
Furthermore, within the updated voting interface, users are given the opportunity to specify their registration choice for every wallet they manage through Daedalus. Previous users will receive notifications about this change in the Daedalus news section, encouraging them to make necessary updates.
Previously reported by U.Today, Cardano (ADA) is moving closer to a significant referendum happening in early 2025. This upcoming vote will allow the ADA community to either accept or dismiss the Cardano Constitution, an extensive set of guidelines aimed at further decentralization.
In early December, Cardano’s Constitution draft was approved by a convention in Buenos Aires.
