Cardano Enters Chang Hard Fork Era With Node 9.1.0 Upgrade

As a dedicated researcher in the cryptocurrency space with a particular interest in Cardano, I have closely followed the developments surrounding the long-awaited Chang Hard Fork upgrade. With the recent release of Node 9.1.0, I am thrilled to see us nearing the end of this transformative journey for Cardano.

As a crypto investor, I’m excited to share that Cardano is making progress towards the Chang Hard Fork upgrade with the recent release of Node 9.1.0. This is a significant step forward for the Cardano network.

The Cardano Chang Hard Fork

As aCardano ecosystem analyst, I’m excited to share that On X, Intersect – our member-organization, recently announced the launch of Cardano’s Node 9.1.0 upgrade. They characterized this update as the concluding phase, bringing on-chain decision-making to life for our beloved Cardano network. To add, Charles Hoskinson, the Cardano founder, echoed these sentiments, confirming that Node 9.1.0 represents the final step before the anticipated Chang Hard Fork upgrade takes place.

This is it. End of the line, node 9.1 is Voltaire. Happy upgrading SPOs. Welcome to Chang

On GitHub, Intersect pointed out that Cardano Node 9.1.0 comes equipped with features essential for implementing the long-awaited Chang upgrade. There isn’t a significant disparity between Node 9.0.0 and the most recent version, Node 9.1.0. The primary distinction between these two systems lies in the inclusion or exclusion of a Conway genesis file. In simpler terms, Node 9.1.0 necessitates this file during startup, whereas it is an optional feature for Node 9.0.0. The significance of the Conway genesis file lies in its role as a prerequisite for the Chang Hard Fork upgrade.

Cardano announced its plans for a significant transition with the Chang Hard Fork update around half a year ago. In conjunction with Plutus V3, the Chang upgrade aims to enhance Cardano’s infrastructure and features, initially slated for release during the first half of 2024. However, Hoskinson indicated in early June that the anticipated Chang Hard Fork upgrade might be completed by then. Sadly, this timeline was not met.

ADA Price and Future PoS Competition

The price of ADA is poised for significant gains following this upgrade, as similar milestone events have historically boosted token prices, including that of ADA.

The Alonzo hard fork in 2021 significantly boosted the price of ADA from $1.35 to $3.10 within a month, demonstrating the significant influence major network improvements can have on Cardano’s market worth.

Currently, ADA is priced at $0.3845 in the cryptocurrency market, representing a 6.88% decrease from its earlier value. There’s optimism among investors that ADA will break through the upper limit of its wedge formation and trigger an uptrend.
