As a long-term investor in Cardano, I have been closely following the developments within the ecosystem with great interest. Recently, Charles Hoskinson’s confirmation of interoperability being part of Cardano’s original roadmap came as welcome news to me and the community. Hearing this directly from the founder himself at a key event in Brazil put an end to any lingering speculation on the matter.
As a researcher studying the latest developments in the blockchain world, I can share that during a recent discourse on platform X, Charles Hoskinson, the architect behind Cardano, clarified misconceptions surrounding the interoperability aspect of its initial blueprint.
In reaction to a tweet shared by “Stake with Pride,” featuring Cardano’s founder, Ian Hoskinson, delivering a speech at a pivotal event in Brazil, a user identified as X raised a query regarding the initial plan for interoperability within the Cardano project.
Hoskinson nodded in agreement, confirming, “Affirmative, Cardano managed this feat through collaboration with partner chains. Midnight is just the beginning of several such initiatives.”
Certainly!

At a speaking engagement in Brazil, Hoskinson highlighted the potential future developments of blockchain technology. He placed particular emphasis on the significance of identity management, privacy protection, and interoperability for next-generation blockchains, such as Midnight Network, which are anticipated to foster widespread acceptance.
Hoskinson’s latest remarks have shed light on Cardano’s unwavering dedication to interoperability, which has been a significant focus since the project’s initial blueprint.
Chang hard fork
In a noteworthy development, the latest version of the Cardano Node, 9.1.0, has been unveiled. This release signifies a major advancement toward the Chang hard fork and represents the final stage for introducing on-chain decision-making to the Cardano blockchain. As with every hard fork, Cardano will upgrade when the community deems it prepared.
In the announcement on Github, it’s mentioned that Cardano Node version 9.1.0 incorporates all essential features for successfully navigating the upcoming Chang hard fork. The key variation between versions 9.0.0 and 9.1.0 lies in the necessity of a Conway genesis file at launch. While this file was not mandatory in version 9.0.0, it is now required to facilitate the transition through the Chang hard fork.
The updated node version comes equipped with numerous bug corrections and improvements for both the Command-Line Interface (CLI) and Application Programming Interface (API). It introduces a new “query treasury” command, as well as adjustments to align with CIP69 and CIP119 specifications.
