As a seasoned analyst with over two decades of experience in the crypto world, I’ve seen my fair share of hype and disappointment. However, the recent updates from Charles Hoskinson about the impending Cardano Hydra upgrade have genuinely piqued my interest. The community’s response suggests a palpable excitement that’s been missing for quite some time.
Charles Hoskinson, creator of Cardano, has ignited enthusiasm within the ADA community with his latest announcement concerning Hydra. By hinting at the impending arrival of the much-anticipated update, he’s piqued curiosity among his followers. The anticipation and feedback indicate that the community is eager to adopt the scaling solution.
Cardano Hydra Update Restores Community Confidence
According to Hoskinson’s recent post, the Hydra Head update is now prepared for deployment. He also raised a thought-provoking question to the community, wondering if they are all set for “Hydra in its Rare Evolution?”

The creator of Cardano shared a link to a Hydra Doom site, signaling that the upgrade will be released imminently. Previously, some spectators had speculated that Cardano had abandoned the Hydra initiative. However, Hoskinson dispelled these rumors in March, explaining that the skepticism from critics was intended to propagate FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt).
Additionally, he reassured users that an upgraded scaling solution for the network is currently in development, as the team has shown increased productivity and motivation. Previously, they have made several enhancements to this scaling solution. One such enhancement was implemented in Q1 2024, which updated the solution to version 0.12.0. This upgrade proved to be compatible with Cardano Node version 8.1.2 and the Mithril protocol developed by Input Output Global (IOG).
As a long-time cryptocurrency enthusiast and investor, I am excited about the latest developments surrounding Cardano and its upcoming Hydra upgrade to version 0.15.0. Having closely followed the progress of this project since its inception, I have witnessed its steady growth and potential to disrupt the decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape.
Essentially, Hoskinson’s recent X post instills optimism within the community that Cardano remains committed to the Hydra project.
More Updates on the Cardano Ecosystem
As a dedicated researcher delving into the realm of Cardano, I’m excited to share an update from a fellow enthusiast, Jaromir Tesar. Recently, he announced that we’ve reached epoch 500 in the Cardano protocol – a significant milestone! Each epoch spans approximately 5 days, so for the past 2,500 days, our network has been consistently operating without any interruptions or restarts. This remarkable achievement underscores Cardano’s robustness and resilience.
Beyond the emergence of Hydra and the progress on the epoch, several other advancements and occurrences have taken place within the Cardano network. Not too long ago, developers introduced Cardano alpha v1, which signifies the initial phase towards collaborative chains. The primary objective is to tackle the security issues that some chains encounter when guarding against low-cost assaults.
