Unlike many Soulslike games, Nioh 3 focuses intensely on complex combat and strategic options. While games like Elden Ring prioritize exploring a vast world, Nioh 3 lets you switch between Samurai and Ninja fighting styles, offering a lot of ways to customize your character and approach battles. Instead of a sprawling, open world, Nioh 3 features larger, connected areas. This means the game challenges you more with how you fight, rather than where you go, giving it a unique identity within the genre.

Although Elden Ring is a fantastic game, it’s not without its flaws. While the soulslike genre is known for being challenging and punishing, Elden Ring sometimes creates frustration that doesn’t add to the enjoyment. Other games in the soulslike style have already addressed some of these combat issues, and even more have done so since Elden Ring’s release. Here’s a look at the most annoying parts of Elden Ring’s combat, and some other soulslike games that handle those aspects better without making the game too easy.

Previous updates focused on story improvements and how characters move around the game. This new video shows off the character designs themselves. The developers have worked hard to keep the characters looking like their original selves, but with a more updated and polished appearance for today’s players.

As a huge Elden Ring fan, I’m really hoping we get the Tarnished Edition on the Switch 2! It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything official, and it’s a little concerning. I heard the version they were showing at Gamescom 2025 wasn’t quite ready, which pushed the release back to 2026. Now that it didn’t show up at the latest Nintendo Direct, a lot of us are starting to worry about whether it will actually happen. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but the silence is definitely making me nervous!

Last year, an updated version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Now, it’s scheduled to be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.

The Steam page for Phyllosoma explains what players can expect, but those familiar with Soulslike games will likely recognize the overall structure. It might not fully satisfy everyone, but if you’re a big fan of the genre and looking for a new challenge, it could definitely be appealing.

Robbie debuted a new look on Instagram on January 26th, showcasing a gothic, medieval-inspired outfit. Stylist Andrew Mukamal shared photos of her wearing a short Roberto Cavalli dress with a square neckline and bell sleeves. She completed the look with a bold necklace and tall Christian Louboutin heels. Robbie styled her blonde hair in a relaxed half-updo with loose, natural curls around her face.

The game launched into Steam Early Access in September 2024 and initially received mixed feedback – currently, 53% of its 503 user reviews are positive.
