Many consider Nichijou to be one of the funniest and most entertaining anime series ever made, so if City’s animated version lives up to that standard, Kyoto Animation could have another hit on their hands.

Back in September 2016, I stumbled upon an extraordinary manga titled “City,” which first appeared in Kodansha’s Morning magazine. This captivating comic series masterfully blends the surreal with everyday life, offering readers a delightful and engaging experience!

For the first time since the devastating fire incident, Kyoto Animation is embarking on a significant new venture in July 2025 with the release of “City the Animation”. As a studio known for its exceptional work, there’s no need for fans to worry about quality. With the success of Arawi’s “Nichijou” under their belt, this project seems fitting as a fresh start.

City Animation is set within a fantastical Japanese cityscape, where an array of quirky characters take center stage, provoking laughter from the audience. Among these groups, the spotlight frequently falls on the Mont Blanc Trio: Midori Nagumo, Wako Izumi, and Ayumu Niikura. This trio navigates their everyday existence while confronting numerous obstacles.
