A plaque honoring the development team behind the canceled live-service game “Concord” has been found in an online auction for Goodwill. It’s thought that these plaques were exclusively presented to developers who worked on “Concord,” and it seems one former developer might be looking to sell theirs.
Originally created by Firewalk Studios before they ceased operation, the game titled “Concord” was a live-action hero shooter released in August 2024. However, it received a disappointingly cold response upon its debut. Critics found the game underwhelming, and players on PS5 and PC showed little interest, resulting in Concord achieving a mere peak of 697 simultaneous Steam players. Given that Sony had high expectations for Concord, internally dubbing it as the “future of PlayStation,” and investing around $400 million into its development, this was an unparalleled flop. Sony removed Concord from service just two weeks after its launch, offered refunds to users, and ultimately decided to leave things as they were.
Following an influx of expensive listings for Concord’s hard copies on eBay, a former player unveiled an intriguing find from another online auction site. On the Concord subreddit, user andregurov has disclosed that they stumbled upon a commemorative plaque meant for Chelsea Grace, who was presumably a previous Outsourcing and Co-dev lead at Firewalk Studios, to celebrate the game’s release. The plaque features a framed physical disc and cover art of Concord and was being auctioned off on Goodwill’s online platform, which seems to have concluded its bidding.

Moving on from the past with Concord, Sony’s ongoing live-service ventures haven’t been particularly successful since then. Most recently, Jade Raymond, founder of PlayStation first-party team Haven Studios, has departed, and early reports about the studio’s inaugural project, Fairgames, aren’t exactly promising. Furthermore, Bungie’s upcoming Marathon game has faced criticism for using art assets from an independent artist without permission, causing a stir among fans.
