Pearl Abyss, the creators of the popular MMORPG *Black Desert*, are releasing their next game, *Crimson Desert*, on March 19, 2026. It’s set to be another immersive adventure in a stunning, but dangerous, world.
Pearl Abyss first showed off Crimson Desert at The Game Awards in 2020, giving gamers a look at its exciting gameplay. The game is set in the expansive world of Pywel and tells the story of Kliff, who’s trying to bring his old crew back together to save Pywel from a dangerous threat. Players can expect a lot to do, including completing missions, quests, and solving puzzles. Crimson Desert has been in development for a while – it was even delayed in August 2025 – but the developers recently shared some positive updates about its progress.

The news came during a PlayStation State of Play presentation on September 24th, alongside a new trailer focusing on the ideals of the Greymane group and its leader, Kliff. The trailer showed off the game’s exciting combat, with battles against both humans and fantastical creatures, all set in stunning environments like deserts, castles, and mountains. A key moment featured Kliff riding a dragon in a dramatic descent.
