Crimson Desert First Steps of a Little Marksman Quest Guide

You can make a White Wood Bow during the “The First Steps of a Little Marksman” quest in Crimson Desert. You’ll need to gather materials and find a blacksmith. Luckily, the quest provides everything you need close to town, but if you get stuck with this Crimson Desert side quest, we’re here to help!

First Steps of a Little Marksman Questline

This quest involves three parts, but the most memorable is crafting bows for the children at Greymanes Camp. The questline itself is fairly straightforward.

  1. Follow Andrew on horseback.
  2. Craft a White Wood Bow for the kids.
  3. Return to Andrew at Howling Hill.

Crafting the White Wood Bow

To craft this bow, you’ll need the following materials:

  • 10x Timber
  • 5x Fine Timber

Once you’ve talked to Andrew, he’ll give you some materials, including the crafting manual for Ranged Weapons of the World Vol. 1. This manual will show you how to make the White Wood Bow, along with other bows. Open your inventory and read the book – you need to learn the recipe from it before you can craft the bow and complete the quest.

If you happen to lose the wood needed to make the White Wood Bow, you’ll need to gather it again. Luckily, both types of wood are commonly dropped by almost every tree in the game, though Fine Timber isn’t guaranteed to drop every time. Just keep chopping wood, and you’ll quickly collect everything you need.

You can chop down trees with Force Palm and Turning Slash, and then break the fallen trunks into logs using Nature’s Grasp. But to get Timber, you’ll still need to use a Logging Axe.

Now that you’ve gathered the necessary materials and learned the recipe, find Turnali in Hernand and ask him to craft the White Wood Bow. You only need one, but if you have extra materials, it’s a good idea to make a White Wood Bow for yourself to use until you acquire a better bow in the Crimson Desert.

Once you’ve made the bow, return to Greymanes Camp and speak with Andrew to finish the quest. He’ll give you Jewel Beetles as a reward, which are useful for crafting. It’s a good idea to save these beetles, as you’ll need them for some future quests.

After you finish the initial ‘Little Marksman’ quests, a new adventure with Yann will begin, tasking you with tracking down wanted outlaws and collecting rewards.
