How to Show Enemy Health Bars in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, players can obtain a Health Detection Device which highlights the health bars of non-boss enemies in red. You can find this device at Marni’s Laboratorium, but it won’t be accessible until you reach Chapter 11 of the main story.

Seeing enemy health bars is a great feature that lets you track how much damage you’re doing and helps you test new gear and weapons, especially Abyss Gear. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Health Detection Device Location in Crimson Desert

  • The Health Detection Device is only available during and after Chapter 11 of the Main Quest in the “Fortress” Keys” mission.
  • You will need to go to Marni’s Laboratorium, which is on the southeast island of Delesyia (on the map image above).
  • At Marni’s Laboratorium, head inside the central building, and take a left through the corridor to reach deeper into the lab.
  • You will eventually reach a dead end, and when facing the north wall, you can find the Health Detection Device on a table, shown in the final image.

How to Use the Health Detection Device in Crimson Desert

  • The Health Detection Device can be equipped from the inventory like any other Helmet.
  • Once equipped, use the Right D-Pad to enter the Functions Wheel, where you can then activate the Health Detection Device as shown in the image above.
  • By pressing L2+R2 with the Health Detection Device helmet equipped, you can lower the visor, and now any enemy you find and lock onto will reveal a red health bar.
  • The Health Detection Device cannot be upgraded, nor can it have any Abyss Gears.
  • While you might be stuck with just 3 points in Defense and no Abyss Gears, it’s still a great helmet to wear if you invest heavily in upgrading your other pieces of armor.
