Crimson Desert is getting even more popular, and the developers at Pearl Abyss are building on that success with the new Patch 1.01. This update includes many improvements players asked for, making the game even better.
Pywel is a vast continent in the game, offering players tons of places to explore. While there are several ways to get around, mounts are the most popular. However, before this recent update, players didn’t have many different mount choices.
The newest update adds five permanent mounts to the game, featuring iconic creatures and rewards from defeating bosses. It also includes many improvements to how the game feels to control and how combat works.
Crimson Desert Patch 1.01 Focuses on Mounts and Movement

Players will now be able to obtain and summon the following new mounts:
- Legendary Animals: White Bear, Silver Fang, Snowwhite Deer
- Boss’ Mounts: Rock Tusk Warthog, Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex
We’ve added more mount choices and improved how movement works. Now, your mount or character won’t slow down even if you briefly stop pressing the run button.
Running is now easier! You can hold down the run button to speed up, or just tap it once. To keep running at full speed, you’ll still need to tap the button from time to time.
Pearl Abyss has made several changes to improve player movement, specifically by reducing stamina usage while flying, swinging, and performing aerial maneuvers.
Running is now easier! Instead of repeatedly pressing the run button, you can now hold it down for continuous speed, or simply tap it once to start running.
We’ve fixed a bug with the aerial stab ability that allowed players to quickly travel long distances by repeatedly using it. Now, using aerial stab multiple times in a row will drain more stamina each time.

Players can now find more treasure chests hidden around Pywel, offering a variety of useful resources.
We’ve added Refinement Tokens, earned by finishing story and faction quests. These tokens let you upgrade your gear without needing extra resources.
