Critical Upgrade Looming for XRP Ledger Node Operators

RippleX, the developer arm of Ripple, has urged node operators to upgrade to version 2.1.1.

If they fail to update to the new version in a timely fashion, they will be amendment blocked.

A new iteration of the XRPL reference server implementation, which addresses a significant vulnerability in Automated Market Makers (AMMs), was released last week.

This Thursday, the AMM bug fix will become active. Therefore, RippleX kindly requests that node operators complete the upgrade.

According to U.Today’s news, the Automated Market Making (AMM) amendment became active on the XRP Ledger in May. As stated by David Schwartz, Ripple’s top tech officer, this event marked a noteworthy milestone for the XRP Ledger because of its capacity to broaden the horizons of Decentralized Finance (DeFi). The AMM system enables users to replace conventional order books with autonomous liquidity pools.

Despite high expectations, the new Automated Market Making (AMM) feature encountered some turbulence in late March. A major glitch was uncovered, affecting the feature’s performance and preventing proper transaction execution. This issue arose due to inconsistencies within certain AMM pools. RippleX users were urged to avoid utilizing the feature as the development team diligently worked on resolving the bug. Notably, Sologenic community members promptly suspended deposit functionality.

In the 2.1.1 update, we’ve added the fixAMMOverflowOffer amendment to address a significant issue.
