The “Realized Volatility” is a fancy term that tells us just how much an asset’s price has fluctuated during a given window of time. Think of it as the emotional rollercoaster of your favorite reality show, but for digital currencies. And in this case, we’re talking about a thrilling 60-day period.

Behold! The chart shared by the analytics firm, showcasing the trend in Realized Volatility for five top digital assets: Bitcoin (BTC), XRP (XRP), Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Cardano (ADA). It’s like a family reunion, but with more drama.

As displayed in the above graph, the 60-day Realized Volatility has seen an increase for each of these assets recently. This is, of course, a natural result of all the price action that has been more erratic than a cat on a hot tin roof, especially since the US Crypto Reserve announcement from President Donald Trump. Yes, that Trump.

XRP and SOL, the two assets that were initially confirmed for the Reserve, have both seen their metrics spike to a dizzying height above 100%. Meanwhile, ADA has decided to throw caution to the wind and reached a new all-time high (ATH) of about 150%. Bravo, ADA! 🎉

Now, let’s talk about the memecoin DOGE, which has seen the smallest increase out of these assets. It’s like the quiet kid in class who still manages to get decent grades. Its 60-day Realized Volatility is still at a respectable level, but the real standout for having a relatively low value of the indicator is BTC, the original cryptocurrency. The granddaddy of them all!

Even though Bitcoin has seen a notable jump in the metric, its value still remains at around just 50%. So, it appears that XRP and its friends have been throwing a much wilder party than BTC in the last 60 days. Who knew crypto could be so social?

In the chart, we see an indicator called the Social Volume, which counts the number of posts, threads, and messages that uniquely mention a given topic or term. It’s like a popularity contest, but for cryptocurrencies.

From the graph, it’s clear that the Social Volume related to low Bitcoin price levels ($50,000 to $69,000) has spiked recently, meaning investors are predicting a bearish outcome for the asset. It’s like they’re all reading the same ominous fortune cookie.

Historically, a high amount of fear surrounding the number one digital asset has actually been a bullish sign for not just its price, but also for altcoins like XRP and Solana. So, fear not, dear investors!

At present, the bullish Social Volume ($100,000 to $119,000) is still at a high level, so while fear is rising, optimism hasn’t completely vanished yet. As Santiment notes,

The true capitulation point (and optimal buy spot) will be when low prices ($50K-$69K) are being predicted across social media with very little mention of high prices ($100K-$119K). It’s like waiting for the other shoe to drop, but with more zeros involved.
