An investigator specializing in cryptocurrencies discovered potential links between a well-known former Fortnite gamer and a significant meme coin swindle, as well as the illicit access to popular celebrities’ accounts.

Investigative cryptocurrency expert ZachXBT unveiled a connection between the high-profile, $3.5 million fraud involving the token and well-known gaming professional, Serpent.

Connection To Serpent’s Crypto Wallets

ZachXBT scrutinized the cases of nine celebrities whose meme coin accounts were hacked. In his analysis, the crypto sleuth detected commonalities among these cyberattacks, suggesting that all trails seem to converge towards a single entity known as Serpent.

It was determined that a skilled Fortnite player could potentially be responsible for these events, with an additional suggestion that this internet gaming enthusiast may have been part of the theft of meme coins valued at approximately $3.5 million.

Wallet Tied To Serpent

ZachXBT’s investigation uncovered digital evidence suggesting that the former Fortnite player was involved in a crypto token scheme. This evidence indicates that all the wallet addresses are connected to an entity known as Serpent.

According to the online detective, the player was heavily involved with several Pump.fun meme coin frauds, which were carried out using compromised social media profiles.

For several months now, ZachXBT has been monitoring a string of connected hacks related to McDonald’s, Usher, Kabosu Owner, Andy Ayrey, Wiz Khalifa, SPX 6900, among others, on platforms like X and IG. This series of events is believed to have led to the theft of over $3.5 million through the creation of Pump Fun meme coins.


McDonald’s Account Compromised

ZachXBT revealed among those accounts compromised in the meme coin scams is McDonald’s Instagram.

As per the comprehensive report, an unauthorized individual gained access to the IG account and exploited it to advertise the GRIMACE token. This intruder amassed approximately $690,000 by employing a ‘buy high, sell high’ approach (also known as pump and dump strategy).

According to the cryptocurrency investigator’s account, the hacker initially transferred the funds to two main digital wallets. A few days passed, after which the perpetrator sent 101.5 Solana (SOL) to two different addresses. Subsequently, they initiated the transfer of the SCHRADER token.

It was discovered by ZachXBT that a meme coin was being endorsed on the account of actor Dean Norris, who had been hacked at the same time.

Deleted Posts

The crypto investigator revealed that the pro-Fortnite player used the scammed funds on online casinos, saying that recordings of Serpent showed a connection with some addresses linked to the hacked account.

Following the release of the initial investigation, it appears that Serpent has been mysteriously erasing all his posts from his recently created account.

Additionally, it was reported by Ginx.tv that the gamer, Serpent, was expelled from the e-sports group “Overtime” in June 2020 due to allegations of cheating.

It’s been noted by experts that the swindle associated with meme coins isn’t a solitary event, considering the fact that this year has seen a significant rise in wallet breaches and fraudulent activities within the cryptocurrency market. Notably, high-profile accounts have been compromised, and the propagation of crypto-related scams has become prevalent.
