Crypto Prices Today May 9: Bitcoin Drops To $61K, ETH Dips, Cardano Breaches Market Trend

The prices of the leading cryptocurrencies saw further decreases on this day, with Bitcoin (BTC) dipping below $62,000, and Ethereum (ETH) falling beneath $3,000 in response to the overall bearish market condition. Meanwhile, Solana (SOL), XRP, and other prominent altcoins suffered significant losses as well. However, Cardano (ADA) bucked the trend by holding its ground.

1. Bitcoin Price

The price of Bitcoin decreased by 1.75 percent and was at $61,495.88 around Thursday, May 9th. In contrast, its trading volume declined by 1.38 percent to reach $25.10 billion over the past day. Additionally, Bitcoin’s market capitalization dropped to $1.21 trillion.

2. Ethereum Price

At the moment of reporting, Ethereum’s price decreased by 1.56% to hit $3,017.56, while its market capitalization amounted to an impressive $362.40 billion. Notably, Ethereum’s trading volume underwent a noticeable decrease, dropping by approximately 16.74%, and settling at around $11.48 billion.

3. Solana Price

Today, the price of Solana dipped below the $150 mark and ended up at $147.04, representing a 4.96% decrease. On the other hand, there was a significant drop in SOL‘s trading volume, with a 21.94% reduction to $2.53 billion over the past 24 hours.

4. XRP Price

During this period, the XRP price dipped below the $0.53 threshold, resulting in a 2.96% decrease, with the new price being $0.5216. Simultaneously, there was a substantial decline of 36.69% in XRP’s trading volume, which amounted to $1.16 billion.

As a Cardano investor, I’ve observed a decrease of 1.70% in the crypto’s price today, bringing it down to $0.4418. Additionally, there was a significant dip in ADA‘s trading volume, resulting in a 19.24% decrease, with the final figure settling at $297.88 million.
