As a thrilled fan, I’m ecstatic to share that my long-awaited anticipation for Days Gone Remastered has been validated! Sony’s State of Play event unveiled the first glimpse of this upgraded zombie odyssey, fueling my excitement even more. For quite some time, rumors about a remastered version of Days Gone had been swirling, and now that it’s officially confirmed, I can hardly contain my enthusiasm over the teased additional in-game content.
Fundamentally, the return of Days Gone Remastered is a mix of joy and longing. On one side, it’s thrilling to see the game regain attention and receive additional material. However, the anticipation and craving for a sequel to Days Gone persists. Whether a second installment will ever materialize is uncertain, but for now, Days Gone Remastered presents another opportunity for the game. The extra features such as permadeath and an upgraded photo mode are enticing, and I hope that more colossal swarms find their way into the game too.
Days Gone Remastered Should Kick the Game’s Hordes Into Overdrive
More Freakers Can Elevate Days Gone’s Survival Elements
- In the original game, zombie hordes ranged anywhere between 25 and 500 zombies.
In the video game titled “Days Gone“, players must eliminate a total of 40 hordes to finish the Horde Killer storyline, and these groups can significantly differ in size. Smaller hordes at places like Little Bear Lake and White King Mine help players gradually adapt to battling swarms of Freakers, whereas larger hordes such as the Sawmill horde intensify the game’s tension even further. Nevertheless, there is potential for greater challenge regarding horde sizes in “Days Gone Remastered“, offering a potentially tougher encounter with more Freakers.
Days Gone Remastered is set to be released on April 25, 2025.
A bigger number of hordes in the game’s narrative would be desirable, but given the details Sony has shared about the remastered version of Days Gone, it seems unlikely that major adjustments will be made to the original game. Nevertheless, with the addition of a dedicated horde mode, players yearning for more intense Freaker interactions should find some satisfaction.
Days Gone Remastered’s Horde Mode Promises Greater Intensity
The main title for this gameplay style is Horde Assault, and in the preview of Days Gone Remastered, there’s a hint of countless hordes of Freakers players will need to combat. Adding an extra horde mode to the original Days Gone can be a great enhancement, but if the bigger hordes are exclusive to this additional mode, it might feel underwhelming when playing through the game’s narrative.
The addition of a new game mode is certainly something to look forward to, yet some long-time players who have been with the original since 2019 might feel that the story mode doesn’t offer significant changes, aside from an option for permadeath. This hardcore feature undeniably adds a substantial challenge, but the opportunity to immerse oneself in the narrative while battling even more formidable foes at the same time could significantly amplify the overall experience. The response to the Days Gone Remastered has been varied, but introducing improvements to the story mode along with additional content may spark renewed enthusiasm among fans.
The “Digitally Released Version” of Days Gone Remastered is what we’re looking at here. If you’ve previously purchased the game, updating to the enhanced version will set you back just $10.
Days Gone Remastered Hopefully Opens the Door for More
Although the remastered version of Days Gone 2 has been released, the desire for this sequel remains unabated and seems unlikely to fade away. Even as hope fades slightly over time, there’s a substantial number of gamers who cherished Days Gone and eagerly anticipate its growth into a bigger franchise. The release of Days Gone Remastered might not have been the news many expected, but it could pave the way for something greater in the future.
