Japan’s biggest anime film to date, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza’s Return, arrived in theaters in July 2025 and lived up to the hype. As a highly anticipated installment in the series, the movie was a massive hit, praised for its incredible action, stunning animation, and compelling story. It remained in Japanese cinemas for nearly a year before concluding its theatrical run. Until recently, fans couldn’t watch the film at home, but that’s about to change! A DVD and Blu-ray release has been officially scheduled for Summer 2026, letting fans enjoy the movie again and again from the comfort of their homes.
Demon Slayer Announces Blu-Ray and DVD Release For Infinity Castle 1 Year After Premiere In Japan
The first part of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle premiered in Japan on July 18, 2025, and quickly became popular worldwide. After a successful run in Japanese theaters ending in April 2026, fans eagerly awaited a home release. Now, it’s been confirmed that Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on July 29, 2026 – just over a year after it first hit cinemas. This summer release means fans can finally enjoy the movie at home.
To mark the exciting news, Ufotable, the studio famous for the Demon Slayer movie, has released new artwork. The illustrations showcase three of the movie’s biggest fights: Zenitsu’s battle with Kaigaku, Shinobu’s fight against Doma (celebrating its incredible action and music), and the climactic showdown between Giyu and Tanjiro and Akaza. Even though the Kaigaku versus Zenitsu fight was the shortest, it also received a beautiful new illustration.
I’ve noticed that getting a movie on Blu-Ray is often more than just watching the film again. Usually, there are added bonuses to make it worthwhile, like deleted scenes or even a whole director’s cut. I’m wondering if the Blu-Ray release of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will include similar extras – it’s certainly a possibility, given how these releases typically work.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Streaming Release Update
The announcement of Infinity Castle coming to Blu-ray and DVD wasn’t a surprise, as it was anticipated after the film finished its run in theaters. With the theatrical release over, the studio no longer has a reason to delay a home release. We can expect a streaming release soon too, for the same reasons.
There’s no confirmed streaming release date for Infinity Castle Part 1 yet, but it will likely become available shortly after the DVD release. This strategy aims to prioritize official viewing options and minimize piracy. When it does stream, expect to find it on major platforms – Crunchyroll has already confirmed they’ll carry the movie, and Netflix is also a possibility.
Now that the first part of the new story is available for streaming, all eyes are turning to Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2. I’m really looking forward to seeing Ufotable’s marketing campaign for the movie kick off soon – it promises to be exciting! While we don’t have a specific release date yet, most people are expecting it around 2027. It’s clear the Demon Slayer craze isn’t slowing down, and with two more films planned, the franchise seems poised to achieve even greater success.
