Did Google Just Invest In An XRP Ledger (XRPL) Startup?

As a crypto investor with experience in the XRP community, I’m excited about the recent developments surrounding XPMarket and the XRP Ledger (XRPL). However, it’s important to clarify the nature of Google’s involvement. Contrary to some speculations, Google did not make a direct investment in XPMarket, but rather provided a $200,000 grant as part of its Google for Startups program.

There have been numerous rumors circulating in the cryptocurrency sphere regarding Google’s purported investment in XPMarket, a multi-faceted platform that combines elements of Gamification and Decentralized Finance (GameFi and DeFi) operating on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

XPMarket Receives $200K Grant From Google

Financial market analyst Zach Rector hinted on social media platform X that Google had recently invested substantially inXRPL startup’s platform based on his observation. He referenced an earlier announcement by XPMarket disclosing the receipt of a notable investment fromGoogle.

XPMarket announced that it received a grant of $200,000 from Google for Startups as part of this tech giant’s initiative to aid budding entrepreneurs and companies. Launched in 2011, Google for Startups has so far invested over $50 million to foster the growth of businesses.

Distributing these grants is not the same as investing in a company, suggesting that Rector’s claim about Google’s investment in XPMarket might have been made too hastily.

Over the past day, XRP has experienced a notable increase of approximately 0.89%. This surge may be attributed to recent news about Google reportedly investing in the cryptocurrency. At present, XRP is being traded at a price of $0.5233.

As a crypto investor in the Web3.0 sector, I’m excited about the $200,000 grant offered by Google for Startups Cloud Program. But that’s not all! This program also promises to provide additional support through technology and community network resources. For our industry, this grant aims to alleviate the burden of infrastructure concerns, enabling us to concentrate on innovation as we develop the next Decentralized Application (DApp), Web3.0 tool, or other groundbreaking projects.

As a crypto investor, I’d like to point out that XPMarket isn’t the sole Web3.0 project to receive a Google grant. In fact, back in February, NFPrompt teamed up with Google for Startups Cloud to advance AIWeb3 innovation. By leveraging Google Cloud’s advanced technology and knowledge, they were able to push forward-thinking solutions.

XRP Ledger Sees Multiple Adoption And Utilisation

Recently, some significant advancements have taken place in the XRPL community. Notably, Coingape announced that Ripple entered into a strategic partnership with Evmos, an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chain developed using the Cosmos SDK, to construct an EVM sidechain for XRPL.

“We will integrate XRPL onto Interchain and give priority to welcoming XRP Army, decentralized applications (DApps), and liquidity to a connected network of over 90 different blockchains.”

Approximately two weeks ago, Ripple disclosed its intentions to collaborate with Hashkey DX, a subsidiary of HashKey Group based in Tokyo, to optimize XRP Ledger (XRPL) solutions in Japan.
