Dying Light: The Beast Releases New Update for April 2026

A new update, Hotfix 1.6.1, is now available for Dying Light: The Beast, bringing a number of improvements to the game. This follows the recent release of the ‘Restored Land’ DLC, which significantly changed how players experience the game by allowing them to permanently clear areas of zombies and attract new survivors. The update also includes a variety of other free content.

So, I finally got around to playing Dying Light: The Beast, which came out last fall, and it’s awesome! You’re back as Kyle Crane, but this time he’s escaped and has some seriously cool new powers he uses to hunt down the people who held him captive. Honestly, everyone’s been loving it – the critics and the fans, myself included. They’ve really upped the brutality and Crane’s new abilities are a game changer. Techland seems committed to supporting the game with updates, which is great, because this could be something really special if they keep it up!

Dying Light: The Beast Is Here to Satiate Your Hunger

As a big fan of Dying Light: The Beast, I’m really happy with Hotfix 1.6.1! Techland’s made some awesome changes to how hunger works. Basically, you won’t be constantly worrying about feeding Kyle Crane anymore. It drains slower when you’re sleeping and just overall, and it takes much longer to get to the point where he’s seriously starving. Plus, you can buy better food from vendors now! It all adds up to a much more relaxed experience, letting me focus on exploring and having fun in that amazing, parkour-filled world.

Techland has added even more improvements! Besides adjusting how hunger works, players can now upgrade weapons from DLC packs all the way up to the highest Legendary quality, making them much more powerful. And if you run out of space in your inventory and stash, the game will automatically drop your lowest-quality weapon. You can find a complete list of all the changes in the full patch notes.

Techland has consistently supported their games after release, and they did so for Dying Light: The Beast with an 11-week plan of updates starting in October. These updates included popular features like a New Game Plus mode and a challenging Nightmare difficulty. Some players found getting the best gear in the original game to be a repetitive process, so features like New Game Plus helped make powerful items more accessible.

Consistent support from developers is key to a thriving game community, and it’s great to see Techland listening to players and making regular improvements. This isn’t a new approach for them – previous games in the series have always received substantial post-release updates and downloadable content, with the extensive features added to Restored Land being the latest example. If Techland continues this trend, Dying Light fans have a lot to anticipate.
