Early Development Gameplay of Crazy Taxi Reboot Leaks Online

As a veteran gamer who can remember when Crazy Taxi first graced our arcade screens back in the day, this new leak has me all worked up! The multiplayer elements and open-world gameplay sound like a dream come true for us old-school fans. I’ve been following Ryan from the Bronx on X (formerly Twitter) for years now, and his leaks have never let me down.

I’ve just stumbled upon some sneak peeks of the 2022 reboot of the classic game, Crazy Taxi! It looks like these leaked gameplay videos are revealing some exciting multiplayer features that we fans have been eagerly waiting for!

The recently released video is thanks to X (previously known as Twitter) user @ryanfrombronx, who posted it on their account. As reported by Ryan, this 33-second clip was developed earlier in 2022 and can be viewed hereunder:

Ryan consistently mentions within the discussion that the game is planned for release on “all contemporary platforms as well as the next-gen model of the Nintendo Switch in 2027.” Essentially, this implies that the Crazy Taxi revival will likely be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, Personal Computers (PC), and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

This year, SEGA announced that Crazy Taxi will be transformed into an open-world multiplayer game. The development team initially faced challenges transitioning from a solo player setup to a dynamic live-service multiplayer platform, but the project is now progressing smoothly. It’s also been suggested by Midori (a character created by Ryan) that the Crazy Taxi remake is under construction using Unreal Engine 5.

In a statement made in December 2023, SEGA revealed their plans to create five fresh titles based on some of their beloved classics: Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Crazy Taxi. TopMob has learned that they are reviving even more iconic games from the past.
