Alright, fellow traveler, I reckon you’ve had quite a few adventures under your belt, but let me tell you, the Fort of Reprimand is one you won’t forget easily! Once you’ve dealt with those pesky soldiers, make like a cat and bound over those cages to the southeast. Follow that linear path, and voila! You’ll find yourself face-to-face with the Flamedrake Talisman +3 in a treasure chest.
In the world of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, there lies a modest prison known as the Fort of Admonition, situated to the east of Castle Ensis on Scadu Altus. Although it appears to follow a straightforward layout, this fort holds some hidden gems that might be effortlessly overlooked. As you delve into its depths, keep an eye out for intriguing artifacts such as a talisman, Ash of War, a quest item, and the fort’s formidable boss.
As a seasoned adventurer who has traversed countless lands and explored countless dungeons, I can attest that it is not uncommon to overlook a fort nestled at the far reaches of a map. Such is the case with this particular fortress hidden in the southeastern end of Scadu Altus. However, for those who have stumbled upon this dungeon while journeying through the world of Shadow of the Erdtree, I would like to offer some guidance on how best to explore it thoroughly.
How To Reach Fort Of Reprimand In Shadow Of The Erdtree
There are two ways of accessing Fort of Reprimand in Elden Ring DLC, one of which involves clearing Castle Ensis and defeating . Exiting Castle Ensis leads you to Scadu Altus and the Highroad Cross Site of Grace.
Begin your journey at the Highroad Cross Site of Grace, then head north until you come across a road junction directing you towards the southeast. At this point, alter your course to head south and continue riding till you reach the end of the road, which leads you to Fort of Reprimand. Along this route, don’t miss out on activating the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace, where you’ll also discover the South Site of Grace and the Moorth Highway.
Fort Of Reprimand — Courtyard
Leaving behind the Moorth Highway towards South Site of Grace, you’ll eventually reach Fort of Reprimand. Inside its courtyard, there’s a formidable enemy known as an Omenkiller on patrol. If your character is not yet adequately leveled, defeating this creature may prove difficult. Fortunately, the Omenkiller doesn’t drop anything particularly valuable. The courtyard offers Smithing Stones, throwing daggers, crafting materials, and low-level upgrade items instead.
To the northeast of the courtyard, there’s a hidden passageway that we’ll explore later in our tour, when we return to this spot after completing our circuit.
Fort Of Reprimand — Basement
To get to the Flamedrake Talisman +3 in the Fort’s basement, head southeast from the courtyard. Once you reach the basement, move east through the corridor, then turn northeast to enter a torture room with a drop on your right side. There aren’t any significant areas below the torture room except for some enemies and a chest holding a medium-level smithing stone. As you explore, remember that there may be additional items or challenges along the way!
Leaving the torment chamber behind, you’ll end up at the northeastern corner of the cellar. There, you’ll encounter three ordinary soldiers that you must overcome. Once you’ve successfully handled the soldiers, leap over the cages towards the southeast and follow the straight path ahead to find a treasure chest holding the Flamedrake Talisman +3.
Fort Of Reprimand — First Floor
Leave the basement by walking through the northeastern archway and ascend a series of stairs that lead to the main floor of the fortress. After reaching the main floor, head in the northwest direction to uncover the Fort of Reprimand’s Site of Grace. Before venturing deeper into the fort, be sure to activate this Site of Grace for future reference.
Navigate from the courtyard, veer towards the southeastern direction following the fortress walls, and eventually, you’ll discover a dining room where the boss of the dungeon is located. Overpowering this foe grants you a valuable reward.
After obtaining the Aspect of the Crucible: Wings, seek the stairway hidden in the dining area to ascend to the fort’s rooftop. When you reach the rooftop, scale the tower located southwest of your position to uncover a treasure chest that holds the Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [2].
From atop the tower, there’s another rooftop visible to the northeast of the fort. You can reach it either by performing an intricate parkour maneuver or by using a spirit spring located south of the Fort of Reprimand.
On this rooftop, there’s just one Smithing Stone [8]. Skipping the rooftop won’t deprive you of any crucial items.
Regardless, if you prefer to reach the rooftop in this northeastern area by parkour, proceed to the rampart beside the dining hall where the descending stairs lead to the basement. Instead of using the stairs, direct your path southeast and exercise caution as you leap onto the stone railing. Now, ascend the ladder to your northeast to obtain the Smithing Stone chest. After you’ve finished with that, descend and move southwest to uncover the Behind the Fort of Reprimand Site of Grace.
To get to Fort of Reprimand, head southeast from the Castle Front Site of Grace and navigate through the ravine until you spot the Sealed Spirit Spring. You can trigger the Spirit Spring by finding the associated stone pile or using either Margott’s or Mohg’s Shackle. Once activated, the Spirit Spring will transport you to the roof of Fort of Reprimand, just behind the Fort of Reprimand Site of Grace.
Fort Of Reprimand — Underground Section
As a gamer, I’ve stumbled upon an underground area hidden beneath The Fort of Reprimand, though it pales in comparison to the grandeur of its upper levels. To access this secret lair, I found a concealed entrance – a deep hole strategically placed within the fort’s courtyard to the north.
The underground section features a linear design, but there’s an Omenkiller around the corner that can catch you by surprise. In this section, you’ll find a few Shadow Realm runes, Marika’s Rune (grants 80,000 runes), a few crafting items, and the Iris of Occultation quest item.
Leaving the subterranean area brings you to the edge of a cliff, where you’ll find the remains of the Messmer Soldier among the tombstones.
1. After circling around the eastern wall of Fort Reprimand, you’ll encounter some enemies that drop Shadow Realm Runes upon defeat. Once you’ve vanquished the Abductor Virgins, proceed to the south end of the fort to grab a one-time use item. This consumable restores your entire HP and cures all afflictions when used.
