Elon Musk On Big New Dogecoin Use Case: ‘Maybe It’s Time’

As a seasoned crypto investor with a knack for spotting potential game-changers, I find Elon Musk’s latest tweet about TITS (The Texas Institute of Technology and Science) intriguing. Having followed his educational ventures, I can see the vision behind this idea – to prepare students for the future by focusing on problem-solving, critical thinking, science, engineering, and ethics.

Elon Musk, known tech entrepreneur, recently expressed support on his X platform account (previously recognized as Twitter) for an idea proposed by Katherine Boyle, a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz. Boyle playfully referred to the concept as TITS, which was humorously used by Twitter users earlier.

This acronym stands for “The Texas Institute of Technology and Science.” Back in 2021, Musk voiced on Twitter an idea of founding this university which would have “epic merch.” MicroStrategy boss Michael Saylor (who was the CEO at the company back then) responded to that, saying: “I hope you teach your students that: #Bitcoin Offers Outstanding Benefits, Seriously.”

In 2021, Elon Musk announced on Twitter that students could pay their tuition using Dogecoin and those who own pets would receive a reduction in fees.

This morning, the tech entrepreneur and avid DOGE enthusiast responded to Katherine Boyle’s tweet with the suggestion: “Perhaps it’s time!” If this proposal materializes, TITS could significantly boost Dogecoin’s real-world utility and elevate its adoption to unprecedented heights.

Musk’s experiments with reforming school education

Elon Musk is renowned not just for revolutionizing the electric vehicle and space sectors, but also for his ambition to overhaul the contemporary American education system. He’s already established two educational institutions. One of them was named Ad Astra (meaning “To The Stars” in Latin). This wasn’t an ordinary school; it catered exclusively to the kids of SpaceX workers. The curriculum emphasized problem-solving, critical thinking, science, engineering, and ethics, eschewing traditional academic subjects and grades. Instead, students were organized based on their skill levels.

Following the closure of Astra in 2020, Elon Musk shifted his focus to education and established Astra Nova in the same year. While the educational principles remained consistent with Ad Astra, Astra Nova welcomed students beyond a select group. The school aimed to prepare children for future needs, encompassing both technological advancements and societal changes. Annual full-time tuition is set at $32,500.
