Elon Musk Reveals Investigation Into Kamala Harris Campaign, Here’s Why

As a seasoned researcher with over two decades of experience in the digital landscape, I find the recent allegations against Kamala Harris’s campaign deeply concerning. The use of coordinated social media manipulation to boost support and censor criticism is not only unethical but also violates the very principles that these platforms were built upon – transparency, neutrality, and fairness.

It appears that Kamala Harris’s election team is utilizing a Discord platform for organizing their volunteers, who are actively sharing pro-Harris material across social networks, particularly platform X. Elon Musk swiftly recommended looking into the matter.

The information suggests that volunteers were told to lower-rate truthful Community Comments that contradicted Harris’s posts, thus falsely boosting the popularity of her messages.

The campaign additionally uses the Reach app to disseminate memes and clips, encouraging volunteers to boost posts by attaching irrelevant popular tags. This synchronized approach can give a false impression of widespread backing and frequently infringes upon the rules set by social media sites.

Kamala Harris’s Campaign Accused of Coordinated Social Media Manipulation

Reports indicate that the Kamala Harris presidential campaign allegedly influences the former Twitter platform, now known as X, to suppress criticisms and false election information.

As a researcher, I’ve taken note of Elon Musk’s swift response, indicating that his team is actively addressing the matter at hand. The inquiry stemmed from a broader examination into allegations suggesting that the Harris-Walz campaign employed tactics to generate false support and circumvent election laws.

Preliminary investigations suggested that the Kamala Harris campaign was accused of artificially influencing Reddit discussions by orchestrating a controlled, grassroots-style deception on the Discord social platform.

As per a particular strategy proposed by a user on the server, volunteers will register themselves under X and subsequently inundate the platform as a means to obstruct comments or notes that we find undesirable.

As a crypto investor, I find it refreshing that the creator of X-Elon Musk has introduced Community Notes as a more impartial approach to dealing with potentially misleading tweets. Should incorrect, misleading, or inadequately contextualized information appear, fellow users can propose addendums to the tweet. Then, it’s up to the community to evaluate the accuracy and relevance of these proposed notes through voting, fostering a more transparent and informed discussion environment among us all.

Despite accounts affiliated with Kamala Harris’ campaign, which have been accused of spreading misinformation and distorted images about the Trump-Vance campaign by The Federalist (a pro-Trump publication), only a small number of their inaccurate tweets carry Community Warning Labels.

In simpler terms, it’s claimed that the campaign guided its volunteers on their Discord chat platform to deliberately lower ratings of community posts. These posts were pointing out the questionable tactics the campaign was using.

Discord Module Allegedly Boosts X Community Notes for Democrats

One of the modules in Harris-Walz Discord allegedly trains users to rapidly increase their “Rating Impact” enough to create their own Community Notes.

It’s been reported that Democratic workers allegedly produce dubious community posts about platform X, designed to weaken Republican and Trump messages. Interestingly, they also urge volunteers to rate these posts highly.

The Federalist argues that the upvote system in X’s Community Notes was intended to minimize political bias better than it has on Reddit. However, attempts by the Kamala Harris campaign to manipulate this feature have had limited results. Yet, these attempts are seen as a significant violation of X’s Terms of Service, which forbid the intentional spreading of information rapidly. According to The Federalist, such actions go against the rules that prohibit artificially making content popular or viral.

Philadelphia DA Sues Elon Musk’s PAC Over $1M Voter Sweepstakes

On one hand, Musk might look into the matter; on the other, he’s not without blame either. Notably, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has recently filed a lawsuit against a political action committee linked to Musk. The aim is to prohibit it from distributing $1 million to registered voters in key US election states.

As a legal analyst, I recently found myself writing about District Attorney Larry Krasner who swiftly initiated a lawsuit against Elon Musk’s America PAC. This action was taken mere days following a warning from the U.S. Department of Justice regarding potential violations of federal election laws associated with their sweepstakes campaign.

The civil suit was filed in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, and Elon Musk and America PAC were named defendants.
