Ethereum Co-Founder Breaks Silence About Recent ETH Sale

As a seasoned analyst with years of experience in the crypto industry, I find Vitalik Buterin’s recent disclosure about his Ethereum (ETH) sale intriguing. Given my familiarity with the complexities of the blockchain world, it’s not surprising that an “automatic cowswap twap order” could have triggered such a transaction. However, considering Buterin’s prominent role in the crypto community and his consistent stance on not selling ETH for personal profit since 2018, this sale raises some eyebrows.

In simpler terms, Vitalik Buterin, one of the founders of Ethereum, has explained the reason behind his ETH sale. He said it was due to an “automatic transaction called a ‘cowswap twap order'”.

According to Buterin, the setup for the order was established as early as August 29th. Moreover, he mentioned that this sale marked the final one.

On September 11th, a wallet linked to Buterin sold a total of 190 Ether, which was equivalent to approximately 441,971 USD Coin. This information comes from Lookonchain. Today, it was disclosed that the co-founder of Ethereum had transferred the 2.27 million USDC tokens he received from selling Ether over the past two years into the Aave lending platform.

According to U.Today’s report, Vitalik Buterin has stated that he hasn’t sold any tokens for personal gain since the year 2018.

Stricter ecosystem standards

In his recent social media post, Buterin also advocated for stricter ecosystem standards.

Moving forward, Buterin will only endorse projects labeled as “stage 1,” which should incorporate a functional anti-fraud system. These projects must also include a security committee with the ability to override the anti-fraud protocol and have a mechanism for updates. In simpler terms, these projects are expected to be self-regulating and adaptable.

According to the Canadian programmer, this is “a very reasonable” milestone.

30-year-old co-creator of Ethereum asserts that the time has passed when rollups were considered merely sophisticated multi-signature wallets.
