Despite the risks, the devs are all “this is necessary!” because DeFi, restaking, and Layer-2s need a strong base. Which, honestly, sounds like a sales pitch for a cryptocurrency. 💸

Solana Also Seeks Throughput Gains with SIMD-0286

Meanwhile, Solana is also trying to get faster. Their plan is called SIMD-0286, which sounds like a secret government project. They want to increase compute units by 66%—because 60M wasn’t enough, obviously. 🚀

Solana’s blocks are 400 milliseconds long. That’s like the time it takes to realize you’ve been scammed. A higher limit means fewer errors for MEV bots and DEXs. Which, let’s be honest, are just fancy ways of saying “people trying to make money off other people’s transactions.” 💸

The last update to 60M CUs was in July. Since then, NFTs, DePIN, and DeFi have exploded. So, 100M CUs it is. Because nothing says “we’re ready for growth” like a 66% increase. 📈
