Ethereum Whale Alert: Co-founder Executes Large-Scale ETH Transfer, Here’s Where It Went

As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience, I’ve seen my fair share of market movements and whale transactions. The recent Ethereum transfers by Vitalik Buterin and other mysterious whales have certainly piqued my interest.

Large Ethereum investors (Ethereum whales) are shifting their assets again, with over a thousand ETH moving swiftly within the last few days. Notably, one of these recent transfers was performed by co-founder Vitalik Buterin, sparking discussions about the future value of this digital currency.

Another Huge Ethereum Move From Vitalik Buterin

Notably, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has carried out a substantial ETH transfer, sparking curiosity within the cryptocurrency community. This transaction, originating from one of Buterin’s recognized wallets, has raised questions about its purpose and potential impact on the value of the digital asset.

Based on information from Lookonchain, a widely used on-chain data service, it appears that a transaction involving approximately 800 Ethereum (ETH) was made by one of Ethereum’s co-founders, which equates to around $2.01 million at the current price of ETH.

Just recently, a large transaction was carried out to a multi-signature wallet. Shortly after this transfer, the specified wallet appeared to exchange approximately 190 ETH, worth around $477,000, for USDC stablecoins.

According to data from the on-chain tracker, this transaction marks the second occasion in August that we’ve seen activity. Lookonchain pointed out that the co-founder previously transferred more than 3,000 ETH, equivalent to around $8.04 million, to the same wallet address on August 9. In simpler terms, it was the second time this month that there was a transaction, and back on August 9, the co-founder moved about 3,000 ETH worth roughly $8.04 million to the same wallet address.

It’s important to point out that when prominent figures in the cryptocurrency field, such as Buterin, take certain actions, it often sparks increased attention. This is especially true during periods of price volatility related to Ethereum. As a result, people are wondering if this transaction might signal strategic moves or broader market influences on ETH. They’re closely watching these activities for signs of what might happen next in the Ethereum market.

More ETH Whales Moves Amid Market Volatility

Following a series of large-scale transactions by unidentified wallets over the last few days, Vitalik Buterin’s transaction has garnered significant interest among the cryptocurrency community due to its notable occurrence.

On Thursday, it was reported by Lookonchain that a large investor (whale) identified as 0xbecd…D3Ad3 carried out a substantial transfer of Ethereum (ETH) worth approximately $17.87 million to Binance, the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange. This whale moved around 6,900 ETH to the platform before the move was made.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that an on-chain tracker has shown a significant withdrawal of Ethereum by a large investor, or “whale,” since the start of this year. This whale appears to have been particularly active between January 28 and May 28, with more than 65,000 ETH being transferred across various exchanges at an average price of around $3,021 each.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve amassed a significant quantity of Ethereum in my crypto holdings. Recently, I’ve chosen to offload a large portion of it, amounting to approximately 21,865 ETH, which translates to around $67.24 million. The average selling price was roughly $3,075 per ETH.

Due to pessimistic opinions about Ethereum’s price, there have been significant transactions taking place. As per CoinMarketCap, the altcoin’s value dropped to $2,520, representing a nearly 6% drop over the past week. This price decrease has affected investor confidence as the trading volume in the last day has dwindled by 20%.
