Our beloved oracle, Tim Beiko, has graced us with the timeline of this monumental upgrade. According to his prophetic thread on X, the Pectra extravaganza will burst forth on Holesky on February 24, 2025, and then waltz over to Sepolia on March 5. Mark your calendars, folks! 🗓️

Pectra is coming to Ethereum testnets 🌃

On Feb 24th, at epoch 115968, the upgrade will go live on Holesky. Then, on Mar 5, at epoch 222464, it will activate on Sepolia.

Thus, the first act of Pectra is expected to land on Holesky testnet at epoch 115968 and on Sepolia testnet at epoch 222464. Once the testing shenanigans are complete, the epoch for the grand mainnet activation will be chosen, as Beiko so wisely notes.

He implores all operators of Holesky or Sepolia testnet nodes to update their software clients before the testnet hard forks occur. Yes, you heard it right! It’s time to dust off those old clients and give them a shiny new coat:

Again, the testnet forks are scheduled for Feb 24th and March 5th. If you’re running a node on either Holesky or Sepolia, now’s the time to update it. Note that the same client releases will work for both testnet forks.
