To be fair, Avowed doesn’t have a large number of primary characters as the game primarily focuses on your four companions, with additional characters appearing sporadically to present challenges for you.
Apart from the Companions, several recurring characters have voice actors assigned to them, but identifying these voice artists is akin to piecing together a puzzle where most parts seem compatible, even when they clearly don’t belong together. However, the voice actors behind Avowed characters are typically exceptional in their performances and deserve recognition for their dedication to their roles.
4.
Kai
Brandon Keener
In your journey, Kai is the initial ally who tags along, and he’s quite talkative. He frequently offers opinions on decisions, whether or not they are solicited from him. Interestingly, he demonstrates a keen awareness of the world’s troubles and often urges the traveler to aid those in distress. Initially, Kai might seem gruff or even unfriendly, but getting to know him reveals otherwise. On the other hand, it becomes apparent that he can sometimes be careless about his own welfare.
I’m thrilled to say that the voice actor for this character is nothing short of amazing, especially when it comes to portraying Kai. If you’re a fan of Mass Effect, you might just recognize Kai’s voice as none other than Brandon Keener, the man behind Garrus Vakarian’s voice in all three Mass Effect games. And if that isn’t impressive enough, he’s also lent his talents to various TV shows, including The Pitt where he played John Bradley.
3.
Marius
Scott Whyte

As a gamer, let me share my experience: I’m the second ally who tags along with my Envoy on this quest to thwart the Dreamscourge. I’ve got a knack for hunting and tracking, and I know the Living Lands like the back of my hand, along with its folks – though I can come off as quite cynical. Despite my gruff exterior and sometimes tough-to-handle attitude, I’ve got good intentions and look out for my companions in my unique way. For instance, instead of giving Kai a heads-up about the proper washing techniques, I might tell him to quit wasting his time with those clothes.
Much like how I’ve dived into various virtual worlds over the years, my voice actor, Scott Whyte, has also traversed diverse paths in the entertainment industry. You might remember him as Chris Anderson on City Guys, a beloved TV show from the late 90s to early 2000s, or perhaps from the Tower of God anime where he lends his voice to Shibisu. In the gaming realm, you may have come across him recently in Marvel Rivals, where he brings the Human Torch to life.
2.
Giatta
Mara Junot

Giatta is an exceptionally gifted animancer who is prepared to risk everything for the sake of assisting her community. She’s bold and determined to carve her own path, even when it means sacrificing her own comfort at home. Over the years, Giatta has diligently studied and refined her abilities, aiming to surpass the achievements of her predecessors and parents, in order to escape a destiny similar to theirs.
Mara Junot, the voice behind her character, showcases a wide range of talent across various video games and animated series. You might remember her as J’mon Sa Ord from The Legend of Vox Machina or as diverse voices such as Shoola and Jules in Arcane. In gaming world, she is recognized for her roles as Storm in Marvel Rivals and Lisa in Genshin Impact. It’s no wonder that Giatta, with Mara Junot providing the voice, makes a delightful companion to have around – her healing and support skills being just one of many reasons to appreciate her.
1.
Yatzli
Anjali Bhimani

Yatzli is lively and full of zest, sometimes playfully engaging with the Enovy while scouring the Living Lands for artifacts devoid of divine influence. These items are often tucked away in remote or concealed locations. She appears well-versed in the history of the Godless and eagerly offers her insights to the Envoy, understanding that this could significantly impact their journey. You encounter Yatzli prior to her joining your party, and she’s bound to leave a lasting impression.
As a gamer, I can’t help but be captivated by Anjali Bhimani’s performances. Whether you recognize her from her spellbinding portrayal of Fy’ra Rai in Critical Role or her iconic role as Symmetra in Overwatch, she’s undeniably made a lasting impression. She’s equally memorable as Rampart in Apex Legends, and as additional voices in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. And if you’ve watched the TV Mini-Series Ms. Marvel, you’ll know her as Auntie Ruby. Truly, she’s an actress who knows how to leave a mark!
