Every Star Wars Game Currently in Development (April 2026)

Video games have been an important part of the Star Wars universe for a long time. From the large-scale battles of the Battlefront series to the story-driven experiences like The Force Unleashed and the fun of LEGO Star Wars, the franchise has always been popular with gamers. While there have been some hits and misses over the past twenty years, Star Wars gaming might be entering a new golden age. Games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its sequel, Survivor, have delivered some of the most compelling stories in the franchise recently, and they’re just the beginning of what’s coming.

Several big Star Wars games are in the works, and two are expected to release this year. It’s always exciting to hear about new Star Wars games, but having multiple titles to anticipate is even better. What’s really great is that these upcoming games span different styles of gameplay, meaning there’s likely something for every type of player.

Star Wars Games That Are Expected to Come Out in 2026

  • Star Wars: Zero Company
  • Star Wars: Galactic Racer

As a Star Wars fan and gamer, I’m really excited about two new titles coming down the pipeline! We’re getting a turn-based tactics game and a super-fast pod racing experience. Right now, both Zero Company and Galactic Racer are aiming for a 2026 release, but there’s no firm date set yet. Zero Company is especially cool because it’s being made by the team behind the XCOM games, so you know the tactics will be solid. You play as Hawks, an ex-Republic officer leading a crew of mercenaries, and the story is set near the end of the Clone Wars. If you’re a lore fanatic like me and want to explore that era in more detail, Zero Company is definitely one to watch!

While Galactic Racer doesn’t appear to have a deep backstory, it looks like it will deliver exciting, fast-paced podracing. Many Star Wars fans have been hoping for a new, dedicated podracing game for quite some time. It’s unclear exactly when both this game and Star Wars Outlaws will be released, but a launch sometime this summer or fall seems probable.

Two Upcoming Star Wars Games Will Take Place During the Old Republic Era

  • Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake

The announcement of Fate of the Old Republic was a major surprise at last year’s Game Awards. Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new game set in the Old Republic era, especially since the KOTOR remake has faced development challenges. While not directly related to the remake, Fate of the Old Republic is intended as a spiritual successor, aiming to recreate the feeling of the beloved RPG that many Star Wars fans consider their favorite. The trailer even featured a crashed ship remarkably similar to the Leviathan from KOTOR, sparking speculation that the new game will include references and Easter eggs to the original.

The KOTOR Remake is Still in Hiding

Fans are still waiting for updates on the KOTOR remake. It’s been five years since the game was first announced, and while developers have occasionally said progress is being made, there hasn’t been any major news in a long time. Hopefully, the remake will eventually be released, but only time will tell.

Fate of the Old Republic is being directed by Casey Hudson, the original KOTOR director.

Three More Big Star Wars Games Are Shrouded in a Thick Blanket of Mystery

  • Star Wars Jedi 3
  • Star Wars Eclipse
  • Untitled Amy Hennig project

Fans are hoping to finally get some news about Star Wars Jedi 3 this year, whether it’s a release date or a trailer. It’s been a while since Respawn Entertainment shared any updates, and we’ve recently seen some leaks. While there’s talk of the game potentially releasing as early as late 2026, that seems unlikely given the November launch of GTA 6. Some sources even suggest EA might delay Star Wars Jedi 3 to early 2027 to avoid competing with it. Until EA or Respawn officially confirms anything, it’s best to be skeptical of any unconfirmed information.

Star Wars Jedi 3‘s story is expected to revolve around Cal’s struggle with the Dark Side.

Star Was Eclipse is Currently M.I.A.

Among upcoming Star Wars games, Eclipse stands out as particularly promising. However, like the remake of KOTOR, we haven’t heard much about it recently. The game is being created by Quantic Dream, known for story-driven games where your choices matter, such as Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. They plan to bring that same style of branching narrative and meaningful consequences to the Star Wars universe, with a diverse cast of characters. While this idea is exciting, the lack of updates has worried some fans who fear the project might be abandoned. Insider Gaming recently reported, through an anonymous source, that Star Wars Eclipse hasn’t been canceled, but it’s still a long way from being released – likely several years.

Amy Hennig’s Untitled Project is the Most Secretive of All

Amy Hennig is the creative force behind the popular Uncharted series, and fans are excited about her current Star Wars project. While details are scarce, rumors suggest it might blend the adventurous spirit of Uncharted with a character reminiscent of both Nathan Drake and Han Solo – a potentially fantastic combination. Hennig previously worked on a Star Wars game called Project Ragtag, which was unfortunately canceled, so there’s hope this new project will come to fruition.
