Every Unlockable Mount and Vehicle in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert features a wide range of mounts and vehicles, from standard horses to more exotic options like warbears, wolves, and even powerful mech suits. Players can acquire both temporary and permanent versions of these mounts, although the most impressive ones may take some effort to unlock. Curious about the different mounts available in Crimson Desert?

Horses

So, right after you finish the intro, the Crimson Desert prologue, you get a horse. And honestly, it’s a really good one – probably the best way to get around! Horses are awesome for covering long distances on flat ground; if I need to go anywhere far, I always hop on. It’s way faster than running!

Legendary Horses

Each horse has unique strengths, and the more you ride a horse, the more abilities it will learn. Special ‘legendary’ horses are even more powerful and have more skills than regular horses. You can find these legendary horses by completing the quest involving the legendary wolf in Crimson Desert. This quest will show you where all the legendary creatures are on the map.

Bears

When you arrive in Pailune, you’ll find both wild bears and skilled warriors called Black Bear fighters who ride actual black bears. If you manage to weaken these bears, you can tame and ride them yourself! They’ll remain friendly while you’re on their back, and you can even direct them to attack your enemies while you ride.

Legendary White Bear

You can earn a permanent white bear mount by defeating the White Bear in Crimson Desert. After you defeat it, skin the bear to get an item. Take this item to any witch in Pywel to craft a Sigil of Solidarity. Using the sigil from your inventory will then unlock the white bear as a permanent mount. This bear is very durable and will automatically attack nearby enemies, even when you’re not riding it.

Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex

The Alpine Ibex is a special mount players can unlock, similar to the white bear. But instead of hunting and skinning it, you’ll need to defeat a boss in western Pailune. This boss is an archer riding an Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex, and he’s a tough opponent—especially since he has support from other hunters and archers. Be prepared for a challenging fight!

The Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex is essentially a horse with a different appearance. While it moves and handles like a horse, it doesn’t have the special abilities that make legendary horses truly exceptional.

Rock Tusk Warthog

Players can earn another unique mount by defeating a specific boss. You’ll find this boss in the jungle located between Delesyia and the Crimson Desert, far east of Hernand. While the warthog isn’t great for long journeys due to its limited stamina, it’s an excellent choice if you want a mount for direct combat.

Silver Fang Wolf

Once you complete the quest to find all legendary animal locations – the same one that reveals them on the map – you can obtain the Silver Fang wolf. Like the legendary white bear, the Silver Fang will fight with you when you call upon it. To get it, complete the quest, then head to Howling Hollow Cave, which is south of the Ancient Rift in Hernand, and defeat the silver wolf inside. Finally, visit a witch and craft a Sigil of Solidarity to make the Silver Fang a permanent mount.

Temporary Animal Mounts

As a player, I’m really excited about all the different creatures you can ride! It’s not permanent – you can only use them for a limited time – but the options are awesome. Here’s a rundown of what’s available:

  • Lions
  • Elephants
  • Giant Rock Lizards
  • Kuku Birds

Some enemy groups – the Goldenscale Bandits in the Crimson Desert and the Blinding Arrows in Demeniss – ride lizards and Kuku birds as their mounts. If you’re looking for elephants, you can find them at the Demeniss Wildlife Park, located just south of the city.

Dragon

After finishing the main story, you’ll be able to summon Blackstar, a dragon connected to the guardians of the Abyss. Blackstar is a powerful combat mount that can run, fly, and breathe fire. Initially, you can only summon him once every 50 minutes, but obtaining Narima’s Horn will let you summon him as often as you like.

Cloudcart

The Cloudcart is like a hot air balloon and is one of the first rideable mounts players will find in the game. You can earn the chance to ride one by finishing the House Grace questline in Hernand, and you can even craft your own once you’ve learned the blueprint.

Cloudcarts aren’t as quick or powerful as Blackstars, but you can get them earlier in the game. Plus, after completing a quest for the main researcher at the Scholastone Institute, you can upgrade them.

Wagons

Players can ride most wagons they find, and while similar to horses, wagons can be sold for a good price. You can get a wagon by taking it from merchants, stealing one parked on the road, or rescuing one that bandits have stolen.

Once you’ve improved the Greymanes camp several times, you’ll receive a side quest that gives you your own wagon. You can use this wagon to sell pre-made trade goods at towns and trading posts.

A.T.A.G. Mech

The ATAG is a powerful, compact mech designed for combat. It’s armed with missiles, machine guns, and energy fields, making it effective against most enemies in the game. Players can obtain an ATAG by completing quests for the Ironflame Orcs in Gorthak, within special hangar locations. After finishing these quests, you can summon your own ATAG whenever you want and use it to dominate the world of Pywel.

Trains

Although they aren’t traditional mounts, you can actually ride the trains that travel through the Crimson Desert and Delesyia. Keep an eye out for them on the tracks – if you see one, you can use your grapple to hop on and enjoy the ride.

Boats

Players can find rowboats scattered around Pywel, which are useful for getting across large lakes and rivers. However, you can’t keep one as your personal vehicle. If you want to travel over water, you’ll need to use one of the flying mounts. Alternatively, you can use a triple jump with Force Palm to glide across shorter distances.
