As a huge Star Wars fan, I’ve always wanted to fly a ship in that universe, and it’s finally happening! Star Wars: Galactic Racer is coming to Steam on October 6th, 2026, and I’m so excited I’m already marking my calendar. You can pre-order it now for $59.99 and get a free banner and livery for your vehicle. If you’re a real enthusiast like me, there’s a Deluxe Upgrade for $79.99 that includes even more vehicle wraps, a digital art book, and tons of customization options. Seriously, if you love Star Wars and racing, this looks like a game you won’t want to miss!
If you loved the Star Wars prequel films, this game is everything you’ve hoped for. Picture yourself speeding across the deserts of Tatooine, beneath its famous twin suns, and racing through ancient canyons. The environments are incredibly detailed – you’ll see dust kicking up behind your vehicle and hear the engines like never before. It truly feels like you’re in the Star Wars universe. Let’s take a closer look at the vehicles you can race when the game launches on October 6th.
Skim Speeder
Momentum Rules The Day
The Skim Speeder immediately stood out in the trailer – it’s incredibly fast and seems perfectly suited for weaving through the debris of a wrecked Star Destroyer. If you enjoy fast-paced, precise driving and tight turns, this vehicle is for you. While it might not be the most powerful, its incredible agility will let you dodge attacks and find hidden routes. Seeing it speed across a desert battlefield filled with Galactic Civil War wreckage was really exciting. It also made me wonder what other iconic Star Wars locations we’ll get to race in. I’m hoping for a Naboo track, as those landscapes are beautiful and would look amazing in the game.
Vehicles that maintain a consistent, smooth speed will perform best and help you finish higher in the rankings, giving you time to avoid obstacles. Trying to make sharp turns at high speeds could be risky. The Skim Speeder has a unique advantage – it can tilt vertically, something other vehicles can’t do as effectively.

Speederbikes
Technical Precision For Gearheads
Speederbikes are shaping up to be incredibly fast vehicles in the game. They’re sleek and narrow, designed for pure speed and navigating tight spaces. I saw them racing along a track with bright yellow rivers and huge antenna cables, which makes the course even more challenging. The environment is just as dangerous as the other racers, so learning the maps and choosing the best vehicle for each track and weather condition will really help you win.
Players with real-life motorcycle experience may prefer the Speederbikes in the game. These vehicles are fast like real motorbikes, so riders need to be just as cautious. Their fragile design makes them vulnerable to other players who want to knock opponents off the track. Even minor collisions can cause a fiery explosion, but skillful drivers who navigate turns well and use the Speederbike’s quick acceleration can gain an advantage and win in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
Landspeeder
Balanced All-Around Performance
The trailer showed a Landspeeder racing on a track that appears to be on Jakku, with a Mandalorian winning the race. It looks like we’ll finally see what a Landspeeder is like in a competitive race! This could be the key to success in the Galactic Racing League. Landspeeders are incredibly fast due to their powerful engines, but they take a while to regain speed after braking. I recommend looking for shortcuts to keep up your momentum and avoid losing time.
Okay, so if I ever get to pilot a repulsorcraft, I’m pretty sure the Landspeeder is where I’d start. It seems to handle a lot like a regular car, which is good news for someone like me! Plus, it’s way tougher than anything else I’ve seen. Honestly, if I’m getting bumped around a lot by other racers or hitting obstacles, the Landspeeder feels like the safest bet.
Podracer
Pure Speed In A Classic Style
Let’s face it, many of us were really hoping for podracing in this game! If you’ve ever dreamed of racing past Watto, you’re in luck. The official website and trailer confirm that classic podracers are included in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. I even saw one racing on Ando Prime, just like in the original 1999 Podracing game. Prepare for a wave of nostalgia and fast-paced action – you’ll finally get to experience the thrill young Anakin Skywalker felt before the dark side consumed him, when he was filled with love and hope.
Podracing is incredibly exciting, and seeing Anakin’s amazing stunts always makes me dream of experiencing that speed myself. Podracers are powerful machines, and if you can control their incredible engines, you have a good chance of winning. However, they’re probably best for skilled racers, since landing safely after jumps requires precise use of the air brakes. But honestly, if you’re feeling confident and want to give it a try, count me in! Sometimes you just have to go for it.
