Summary
- Automatic housing demolition in Final Fantasy 14 resumes June 6 at 4:00 AM Eastern.
- Players have three weeks to reset their timers to 45 days to prevent demolition.
- Square Enix will notify players facing demolition two weeks in advance.
On May 16, Square Enix announced that the automated destruction of homes in Final Fantasy 14 will resume soon after the release of Patch 7.25. Players on North American servers have a brief window to revisit their virtual properties in Final Fantasy 14 before the current pause ends, allowing them to reset the automatic demolition timers to their maximum 45-day duration.
As a devoted gamer in the world of Final Fantasy 14, securing a cozy abode for my character has become an intense competition. Each server boasts a limited number of residential plots, leaving players and free companies scrambling to claim them. Post-Endwalker expansion, any available plot is up for grabs through a housing lottery drawing that demands a hefty sum of Gil – millions, to be exact. To participate in the draw, you must meet the criteria based on the ward and server where the plot resides. Most plots can be bid on by individual players or free companies, but some are reserved exclusively for one group or the other. Unsuccessful bidders get their Gil refunded.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that after a five-month break, the automatic housing demolitions in Final Fantasy 14 will be back in action starting June 6, around 4:00 AM Eastern time. This news comes from a recent Lodestone post. For players on the Aether, Primal, Crystal, and Dynamis data centers in North America, this means you have three weeks, until the restart, to re-enter any individual properties or free company homes you’re connected with. Once you do, the housing timers will be reset to 45 days. This pause was implemented back on January 9 due to the California wildfires, and if you’ve visited your virtual home in Eorzea since then, you’re all good!
When Will Final Fantasy 14 Housing Demolitions Resume?
- Friday, June 6, at approximately 4:00 AM Eastern.
Previously halted due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the housing timer in Final Fantasy 14 was initially removed on January 8. However, it was paused again the next day because of the California wildfires. When the pause ends, any timers that haven’t been reset to 45 days will continue from where they were stopped. Square Enix plans to alert players who face demolition with a notice around two weeks before their housing plot is deleted and made available for bidding in a lottery system.
During the “Make It Rain” event in Final Fantasy 14, running from May 19th to June 11th, the housing demolition timers will start again. The exact number of new housing plots that will become available once the suspension ends is yet to be determined.
