Two devotees of “Final Fantasy X” showcased their creative costumes inspired by the popular pair, Tidus and Yuna, from the game on social media. Fans of “Final Fantasy X” recreated various scenes from the game for a cosplay photoshoot, capturing moments like the underwater date and The Sending. Others admired the duo’s meticulous attention to detail in their costumes and settings.
Mostly, the narrative of Final Fantasy 10 was conveyed through flashbacks, with the main character, Tidus, narrating his adventures to Yuna and their companions. He started by describing his arrival on Spira’s shores after an assault by the fearsome Sin, a monster, and how he befriended Wakka following this incident. Later, Tidus joined Yuna on her journey as a summoner, aiming to save Spira by vanquishing Sin. Their joint experiences during this pilgrimage led to romantic feelings between Tidus and Yuna. The relationship between Tidus and Yuna was a significant aspect of the storyline in Final Fantasy 10-2 as well.
Final Fantasy 10 Fans Share Stunning Tidus and Yuna Cosplay
It’s no wonder that Tidus and Yuna are frequently chosen for cosplay by fans of the popular game “Final Fantasy”. Recently, a fan named Sweet Nayru showcased her homemade versions of these iconic characters on the “Final Fantasy” subreddit. Sweet Nayru took it upon herself to craft both outfits, and enlisted the help of professional photographer Charles Lan to capture the images. For Tidus’ costume, a chainmail band was added to the left sleeve, while the rest consisted mainly of cloth and leather. To complete Tidus’ appearance, Fan Guy wore a blonde wig. Yuna, on the other hand, was dressed in her recognizable summoner attire, which included a long purple skirt, large yellow sash, and white arm gauntlets. Both Yuna’s staff and Tidus’ Brotherhood sword were also part of each respective cosplay.
For the 2025 Anime Expo held in Los Angeles in early July, custom-made Tidus and Yuna costumes were prepared. During the photoshoot, Sweet Nayru and Fan Guy recreated iconic scenes from Final Fantasy 10, including an underwater date scene inspired by Macalania Woods and a Sending ceremony reminiscent of Kilika Island.
In response, fans of Final Fantasy praised Sweet Nayru and Fan Guy for their portrayals of Tidus and Yuna. Although Final Fantasy has moved away from the turn-based combat systems found in games like Final Fantasy 10, it remains uncertain whether future installments will offer similar experiences as homages to the past.
