MoneyGram, a major player in international money transfers, discloses information about its recent involvement in the cryptocurrency sector. Through their partnership with OwlTing, an associate of Stellar, USDC on- and off-ramp services are now accessible at MoneyGram outlets worldwide.

This collaboration allows for a smooth integration of OwlPay Wallet Pro with my MoneyGram International accounts, making my crypto transactions even more convenient.

In summary, it is now possible for customers in 30 different locations worldwide to exchange USDC stablecoin and local currencies through MoneyGram. Additionally, users in all 170 countries and territories where MoneyGram operates can withdraw USDC using the OwlPay Wallet Pro.
Circle’s USDC, previously known as USD Coin, ranks as the second-largest stablecoin globally. Approximately $41 billion in value is attributed to it when converted.
Previously, I’ve learned from U.Today that MoneyGram, being a major player, has been actively engaging with cryptocurrency-centric remittance platforms.
From the year 2022 onwards, MoneyGram enables users to buy Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC) directly through their platforms.
Bringing crypto opportunities to unbanked population
As a financial analyst, I have been leveraging the ODL (On-Demand Liquidity) platform, which is powered by Ripple and relies on XRP for cross-border remittance transactions. Prior to 2021, MoneyGram stood out as my most significant partner in this endeavor.
Starting from August 2024, OwlTing Group has teamed up with Stellar. Consequently, MoneyGram will form a connection with one of the rapidly expanding crypto ecosystems in Q4, 2024. This partnership will introduce new B2B tools that are particularly valuable for regions experiencing high inflation rates.
Previously reported by U.Today, Stellar Lumens (XLM), the digital currency of Stellar, unexpectedly soared in November. Last month, its value reached above $0.6, signifying a substantial 400% rise.
